Lindsay Lohan refuses to weigh herself
Lindsay Lohan refuses to weigh herself. The 'Mean Girls' actress doesn't get on the scales because she doesn't want her weight to dominate her life and is comfortable with the way she looks.
She said: "I'm kind of happy with my body. I don't work out too much, I have fun, I eat a lot, so I'm happy. There's a lot of things I'd change, but I'm happy. I'd change little things. I hate my legs. I'd like to be taller. I don't know how tall I am. I don't believe in weighing myself or checking my height because then when people ask, I feel obligated to say." However, Lindsay admits she does feels under pressure to conform to Hollywood's ideal female body shape.
The 21-year-old star added to Britain's OK! magazine: "I get self-conscious and so are my friends. I always get self-conscious about the way I look, the way my legs look, about my freckles, my hair. If I have a blemish, I'll freak out. But to be totally honest, I've gotten so much more comfortable with myself than I used to be."

Bill Gates bids teary farewell to Microsoft
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates bid farewell to Microsoft on Friday, resigning from his full-time post as chairman of the software giant.
At a town hall meeting in Redmond, Washington, more than 800 Microsoft employees gathered to send Gates off into the new era of his life.
Chairman of Microsoft Corporation Bill Gates testifies at the House Science and Technology Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC in this March 12, 2008 file photo. Gates is retiring from Microsoft on June 27, 2008, but will remain the company's non-executive chairman.
Accompanied by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, Gates walked in smiling to a standing ovation, and introduced his wife, Melinda, and his children in the audience.
"There won't be a day in my life that I'm not thinking about Microsoft and the great things that it's doing and wanting to help," teary-eyed Gates told the farewell event.
After decades devoted to Microsoft, Gates plans to turn his fulltime attention to the philanthropic Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation he established with his wife.
The Gates couple, whose fortune was estimated at 58 billion dollars, mainly Microsoft stock, has pledged to donate almost all their fortune to the now 40-billion-dollar foundation.
Chairman of Microsoft Corporation Bill Gates testifies on competitiveness in the global marketplace as it relates to technology to the House Science and Technology Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington March 12, 2008.
Gates leaves Microsoft at a time when the company is wrestling with a fast-changing computer era and growing challenges from Internet juggernaut Google and longtime rival Apple, makers of Macintosh computers.
Gates acknowledged that it will not be easy to move on, given how natural it became for him to work at the company over the past three decades.
Referring to being asked how he could leave when Microsoft is faced with such huge challenges, he said: "Well, there's always intense competition. I think the company is stronger today than it's ever been."
"That's very clear to me. The depth of IQ in this company is phenomenal. Now, we don't always get it to add up. We get a tiny bit of subtraction sometimes, and that's one of our challenges," said Gates, who remains the firm's single largest shareholder.
Asked about his biggest mistake, Gates said the key thing in software is to accurately anticipate new bends in the road.
Microsoft is ahead of the curve in areas like graphical user interface, he said, while acknowledging that it has lagged behind in other areas, such as Internet search and advertising.
"When we miss a big change and we don't get great people on it, that is the most dangerous thing for us," Gates said. "It's happened many times. It's OK, but the less the better."
"Search is the place where people probably really think, will Microsoft ever do anything there? We'll be the very best," he said. "That is in full motion."
He reminded employees that the company could leap from behind as well as lead.
Gates said he thought it was still right for the company to focus on software.
"We have so many opportunities to surprise people."
Turning to Microsoft's growth, Gates said the idea is not to be big, but to be lean and agile, while still in a position to tackle tough challenges.
"I don't think we'll double (in size) again, but you know, I've been wrong before."
Gates, who will remain Microsoft's non-executive chairman on a part-time basis, said he would still take on Microsoft projects picked by Ballmer and two other executives who have assumed most of his day-to-day tasks -- Craig Mundie and Ray Ozzie.
"I do think with my not being here full time there is some opportunity that people will really step up. There's somewhat of a vacuum created there," he said.
"I have got to get out of the way, and let that new thing step in there."
The employees rose to their feet when Ballmer presented the departing chairman with a large scrapbook embossed with Gates' signature.
"We've been given an enormous, enormous opportunity. And Bill gave us that opportunity," Ballmer said. "I want to thank Bill for that."
Besides Ballmer acting as chief executive officer of the firm, Craig Mundie will inherit Gates' chief research and strategy officer duties and Ray Ozzie will handle the former head's job as chief software architect.

Warner Bros. thriller-comedy "Get Smart" is expected to top the box office in North America this weekend as the film takes in estimated 39.1 million dollars over the four-day period, according to preliminary figures released Sunday.
A poster of "Get Smart." "Get Smart" is expected to top the box office in North America this weekend as the film takes in estimated 39.1 million dollars over the four-day period.
"Get Smart," starring Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway, is the latest big-screen adaptation of the popular 1960s sitcom about the bumbling U.S. agent Maxwell Smart on a mission to stop a plot by the evil crime syndicate known as KAOS.
Meanwhile, Paramount's heavily-marketed comedy "The Love Guru," the weekend's other new wide release, is pegged to finish in a sad fourth place at the box office, with just 14 million dollars in receipts, the Los Angeles-based box office tracking firm Media By Numbers predicted.
Cast member Anne Hathaway waves at the premiere of "Get Smart" at the Mann Village theatre in Westwood, California June 16, 2008.
In a near-tie for second place were two movies that premiered earlier. DreamWorks Animation's "Kung Fu Panda" will take in 21.7 million dollars over the weekend, narrowly followed by last week's box office leader, Marvel Studios' "The Incredible Hulk," with an estimated take of 21.6 million dollars.
The panda movie has grossed estimated 155.6 million dollars in North America since its release three weeks ago, and the hulk, in its second week of release, has a track record of 96.4 million dollars. The two films were close enough that their rankings could change when final numbers are released Monday.

Britney granted overnight visits with sons
Pop star Britney Spears on Tuesday was granted in a court hearing overnight visitation rights with sons Sean Preston, two and half years, and Jaden James, 21 months, who are in the custody of her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, according to Web site TMZ.com.
The Grammy-winning entertainer hasn't had her children overnight since January following her forced hospitalization at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
At the closed-door hearing, Spears and Federline appeared before Commissioner Scott Gordon, who took the one-hour proceeding behind closed doors. The pop star and a parenting coach were questioned by Gordon.
Court spokesman Allan Parachini said that at the end of the hearing Gordon ordered the modification to Spears' visitation rights and set another status conference in the case for July 15.
Spears has turned her life around in the past few months after a year of troubling behaviour and two brief hospitalizations for psychiatric evaluation.
She has been mentioned as a possible Emmy award nominee for her guest appearance on the TV sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" and is reportedly working on a new album.
In May, Spears was granted expanded visitation rights to her two sons, with Federline retaining custody the boys. Federline has had full custody of his two sons with Spears since January.
The pop diva's personal life spiralled out of control after her 2006 breakup with Federline.
She shaved her head, entered rehab, was ordered to take drug and alcohol tests and parenting classes, and was twice taken to psychiatric units for treatment of what has been reported to be bipolar disorder.

Cameron Diaz has been openly canoodling with new boyfriend Paul Sculfor. The 'What Happens in Vegas' star couldn't keep her hands off the British model as they enjoyed a romantic meal in Hollywood before hitting the shops.

Is Carey, Cannon marriage already on the rocks?
Not yet married two months, inside sources are predicting newlyweds Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon already face trouble and their marriage may not last six months, reports Life & Style.
"I give the marriage six months, tops," said a source close to the singer. "I can't see it lasting."
The insider claims that the reason behind that gloom-and-doom prediction is Nick's need to do everything for his diva bride. While Mariah likes being waited on hand and foot, that routine won't work in the long run.
"Nick does whatever Mariah wants him to — he's like her puppy," the insider continued. "It seems like Nick spends more time in the stores with Mariah's credit card than he does with Mariah herself."
But a source close to the groom doesn't see the problem, insisting, "(Mariah) needs someone to dote on her."
Not so, according to Mariah's pal, who believes Nick needs to be his own man.
"Mariah’s assistants and friends call him 'Whipped Nick' behind his back," the Mariah insider told Life & Style. "They have little respect for him because he won't stand up for himself."

Reverend Al Sharpton (C) poses with Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri at the Clive Davis pre-Grammy party in Beverly Hills, California February 9, 2008. The Grammy awards will be given out in Los Angeles on Feb. 10.
He hasn't given her an ultimatum, but has expressed his discontent with the way she refuses to talk about commitment. Janet has finally realized how important this is to him." Janet - who was previously married to Rene Elizondo and James DeBarge - has promised to focus on wedding plans once her run of shows finishes later this year.
The source added to the National Enquirer magazine: "Janet is preparing for a short tour this fall, but when that is over, she and Jermaine are going to put the final touches on their wedding plans and seal the deal."

Actress, dancer Cyd Charisse dead at 86
Charisse, 86, died in Los Angeles on June 17, 2008, her spokesman Gene Schwam said.
Actress Cyd Charisse poses for photographers during a reception at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to screen the re-mastered digital presentation of the 1974 film, 'That's Entertainment,' in Beverly Hills, California in this September 17, 2004 file photo.
Actress and dancer Cyd Charisse, the impossibly long-legged movie musical star who gained fame for her on-screen pairings with Hollywood dance greats Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly, died on Tuesday at age 86.
Charisse, a sinuous, athletic performer once described by Astaire as "beautiful dynamite," died early in the morning of a heart attack at a Los Angeles-area hospital, according to her agent, Scott Stander.
Actress Cyd Charisse is shown in her role as Ninotchka in the 1957 film 'Silk Stocking' in this undated publicity photo from Warner Bros Studios released June 17, 2008. Charisse, 86, died in Los Angeles on June 17, 2008, her spokesman Gene Schwam said.
Publicist Gene Schwam said she had only recently celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary with her second husband, singer Tony Martin, whom she married after a romance with millionaire Howard Hughes.
"What was special about Cyd was that she was always stylish and graceful, and when I saw her two weeks ago, she was still dressed beautifully and her hair was done properly," Schwam told Reuters. "She was such a loving and gracious woman throughout her life."
Born Tula Ellice Finklea in Amarillo, Texas, she took her professional surname from her first husband, ballet instructor Nico Charisse. The moniker of Cyd was adapted from a childhood nickname, Sid, coined by her brother.
Joining the Ballet Russe as a teenager in the mid-1930s, she broke into movies in 1943 dancing opposite Don Ameche in "Something to Shout About," billed then as Lily Norwood.
