Jessica Simpson doesn't brush her teeth every day - because she doesn't like them to be too "slippery".

The blonde beauty avoids scrubbing her gnashers more than three times a week instead choosing to floss.

During an appearance on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' to air today (28.04.10), she revealed: "I don't do it because my teeth are so white and I don't like them to feel too slippery but I do use Listerine and I do floss everyday. But I don't brush them every day.

"My lips just slide all over the place... I can't catch up with my mouth.

I need a little coating."

Despite her sporadic dental hygiene, Jessica is adamant she always has pleasant smelling breath.

She added: "I know it's gross but I always have fresh breath. It's really weird but I have great breath."

The 29-year-old singer also revealed she is on the lookout for a new man and insists a guy doesn't have to be famous to date her.

Jessica - whose exes include John Mayer, Tony Romo and former husband Nick Lachey - said: "They definitely have to understand my life and what I put up with and what I deal with. Being scrutinised publicly... that can definitely make or break a relationship and you have to have that strong foundation... so I have to have somebody that understands that kind of lifestyle."

The 'With You' singer celebrated her 29th birthday on Friday (10.07.09) and while her planned Barbie party failed to happen, the blonde beauty is enjoying being one step closer to turning 30.

Jessica - who is dating American footballer Tony Romo - had wanted a Barbie and Ken themed soiree in honour of the iconic doll and her long-term beau.

She had even messaged Emmy Rossum on Twitter about the bash telling the actress: "can't wait to see your costume on the 10th! birthday evite coming soon:) you are always the best dressed!!! (sic)."

However, the party never happened and Jessica celebrated her birthday with family and friends.

Tony - who has been romancing Jessica since November 2007 - recently revealed their dream date is watching American football.

When asked to describe his perfect date, Tony, who is the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, said: "A little bite to eat and probably watch a football game!"

Six years after she became a breakout reality TV star with MTV's "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica," Jessica Simpson is returning to MTV Networks for a VH1 series targeted for a 2010 launch.

"The Price of Beauty" will feature Simpson traveling the world to meet regular women as well as some local pop culture icons. Simpson will study local fashions, dietary fads and beauty regimes and even participate in some of the extreme practices she discovers.

"I have always believed that beauty comes from within and confidence will always make a woman beautiful, but I know how much pressure some women put on themselves to look perfect," said Simpson, who has gotten a lot of attention for her new full figure which she has fully embraced.

Shooting is set to begin in mid-July.
