Ashlee Simpson has blasted critics who attacked her sister Jessica's figure.

The 24-year-old singer has defended her older sibling - who was photographed wearing unflattering high-waisted jeans at a recent Florida concert with a seemingly fuller figure - insisting the comments about Jessica's weight are "embarrassing and belittling".

She wrote on her blog: "I am completely disgusted. Since when did a woman's weight become newsworthy? How can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticise a size two figure?

"A week after the inauguration of US President Barack Obama and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman's weight or figure.

"All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you're a celebrity, there shouldn't be a different standard."

DJ Scott Simon, who interviewed Jessica during the Florida show on Sunday , has dismissed claims the 28-year-old has lost her good looks.

He said: "People are saying she put on a few pounds. But she looked fabulous. Confident, healthy and happy."

Even her former personal trainer Harley Pasternak has slammed claims that Jessica is fat, saying: "She has curves where a woman needs to have curves. She's still sexy. She's still a beautiful woman. And I have no problem with the way she looks."

Jessica's American football star boyfriend Tony Romo is also a fan of her sexy figure.

A source said: "He thinks Jess is hot no matter what. He wants to date a girl who can have a few beers, ribs, fries and dessert."

Pete Wentz says Ashlee Simpson's breast milk tastes "soury and weird".

The Fall Out Boy rocker is not a fan of his wife's milk, but insists his newborn son Bronx Mowgli enjoys it.

He said: "The baby loves it, it's the only thing he's had a chance to have." The star has also revealed his plans to become a father again and hopes to have a sizeable brood.

He said: "I want to have six now. I mean not six specifically, but I want more... I can't imagine that we're stopping, you know what I'm saying? "This is like a Journey song, it's like the chorus is just going to keep coming."

Pete, 29, has also confessed he thought he was going into cardiac arrest when Ashlee was having the baby, but soon felt better when he saw his son.

He added to US radio station Sirius: "I had a scared moment right before she went into labour - I thought I was having a heart attack for real, like my heart started doing like a weird thing.

"But, the first time I held him... I just knew everything was perfect. Like everything was good - it was like Lego, you know what I'm saying? Like it all fit together."

Pete Wentz had the "best sexual encounter" of his life with wife Ashlee Simpson. The Fall Out Boy rocker insists the first time he made love to Ashlee was amazing because he had fantasised about her for so long.

He said: "It was the single best sexual encounter I've ever had. We were in New York's Soho Grand Hotel, and there was a mirror, and I was like, 'Oh my God, you're banging the girl of your dreams and you're watching it right now.' "

The 29-year-old musician - who recently welcomed the couple's first child, son Bronx Mowgli, into the world - has no complaints about his sex life with Ashlee, 24, and says she is the best lover he has ever had.

He told US radio DJ Howard Stern: "We have an amazing sex life, Texas girls are fun! We have such sexual chemistry. If we had been on this show last year, we'd probably be doing it in the green room right now. "My wife will murder me if I go on the scale and talk about other girls. I will say though that Michelle Trachtenberg was a blast.

My wife is the ultimate, though." Although Pete kept tight-lipped about most of his bedroom antics with Ashlee, he did concede she has "mean skills" when it comes to giving lap dances.

The pregnant singer, who is married to "Fall Out Boy" rocker Pete Wentz, celebrated turning 24 with a fancy dress bash at her parents' Los Angeles home last weekend.

One guest revealed: "It had a white-trash theme. Ashlee wore Daisy Duke hot-pants and platform flip-flops with a bathing suit and a fake tattoo around her belly."

Ashlee's sister Jessica and her father Joe also got into the party spirit by dressing up in "crazy" outfits.

Another guest told People magazine: "Joe wore a cut-off muscle T-shirt and a mullet wig. It was funny. Jessica was wearing a crazy leopard-print dress that showed off a lot of cleavage."

Revellers included Christina Aguilera, Nicole Richie and her Good Charlotte rocker fiance Joel Madden.

Guests were treated to chicken fingers, French fries, corn dogs and macaroni cheese.

This isn't the first time Ashlee - who is reportedly due to give birth at the end of the month - has thrown a fancy dress birthday party.

Last year, Ashlee asked guests to don prom dresses, fingerless gloves and vintage tuxedos for her 80s prom-themed bash.

One friend said: "Ashlee loves throwing themed parties and wearing costumes."

Ashlee and the Fall Out Boy rocker - who got engaged last month - have told guests to keep the day free although they have not let anyone know where the nuptials will take place.

A source told Us Weekly magazine: "Proper invites have not been sent out but guests have been given a save the date notice."

On Friday, close friends and family will join the couple for a rehearsal dinner.

The following day, guests “will be transported in shuttles to the wedding location".

Ashlee’s spokesperson has refused to confirm or deny the rumoured nuptials, saying: "This is a private matter. There is nothing to confirm."

Ashlee and Pete announced their engagement last month, saying: "Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged. Thank you for all of your support and well-wishes - it means the world to us."

It was later reported Ashlee was pregnant with the couple’s first child and are keen to tie the knot before the baby is born.

A source said: "They’re keeping it quiet because they want to get married first."
