Pamela Anderson in Israel to promote fur ban

Former "Baywatch" star Pamela Anderson said Sunday she will try her powers of seduction while in Israel on an unlikely audience — ultra-Orthodox Jewish lawmakers.

Anderson, an honorary director of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, is in Israel to participate in the local version of "Dancing with the Stars."

Her work for animals "has been really inspiring," she said. "I feel like I have actually done something."

An anti-fur bill has been put on hold in Israel over concerns by ultra-Orthodox leaders that it could impact production of the characteristic fur hats worn by some men from Hassidic sects on holidays and other festive occasions.

To combat growing secularization of Jews to European society in the 18th century, Hassidic Jews decided that their way of dress should remain intact and not be influenced by fashion. Descendants of these communities to this day wear the black hats and coats of that period, including, at times, fur hats.

Anderson called Israel a "progressive" country because it had no fur farms, and said that it can serve as "an example for the rest of the world."

She said she intends to speak about the issue of fur to Israeli religious leaders on her trip.

"It's almost 2011. There are so many alternatives to things. We can be compassionate in our choices," Anderson said.

She said she tries to incorporate her campaign for animal rights during other "Dancing with the Stars" shows around the world.

Late Sunday, Anderson visited the Western Wall in Jerusalem, the holiest site where Jews can pray.

Pamela Anderson's taxing responsibility

Pamela Anderson is taking "full responsibility" for her financial problems.

The former 'Baywatch' actress owes $493,144 in personal income tax, according to the California Franchise Tax Board, and insists the situation is "driving her crazy", though she is doing her best to resolve the matter.

She said: "I take full responsibility and I'm working it all out as best I can.

"I hate to owe anybody anything. It's driving me crazy, but I'm doing everything I can to solve all that."

She also claims the tax problem has been ongoing, but only recently noticed by the press due to her appearance on reality TV show 'Dancing with the Stars'.

The 42-year-old blonde star told 'Access Hollywood': "You know that's been going on for a while, but it got picked up because when you're in the press I guess they dig around and try to find some dirt.

"I'm doing everything I can, obviously that's really important to me."

Last week, Pamela admitted she was "embarrassed" by the situation, and took to twitter to clear up any issues.

She said: "I'm not trying to avoid any tax obligation. Certain events occurred, outside of my control which caused this temporary but embarrassing situation. All of my tax obligations will be resolved in the very near future. Love Pamela."

Pamela Anderson's personality performance

Pamela Anderson has a "split personality".

The former 'Baywatch' actress - who is currently dating surfer-and-electrician Jamie Padgett - loves showing off by becoming different characters.

She said: "I have a split personality. My boyfriend would tell you that I play a lot of characters. As soon as the camera comes out, I assume another role. People never think I am much of an actress, but it's always a performance for me. I am a bit of an exhibitionist.

"I am who I am. No apologies, no excuses. I'm not here for anyone's approval."

Pamela - who was previously married to Tommy Lee, Kid Rock and Rick Salomon - accepts she has a "wild" past, but now resists the temptations of partying by staying at home with her sons, 13-year-old Brandon and Dylan, 11.

The 42-year-old blonde star explained: "I'm no angel. I do try. I've been wild and crazy, I'll admit that. I've been around everything you can think of, but when I've misbehaved I've always managed to stop myself. 'What am I doing? Come on, I'm a mother!' I enjoyed all those moments though.

"Now and again I might drink champagne, but the real craziness is in the past. My kids saved my life."

Strip club host Pamela Anderson

British designer Vivienne Westwood (L) and her husband Andreas Kronthaler (R) pose backstage with actress Pamela Anderson before the start of her Fall/Winter 2009/10 women's ready-to-wear fashion collection during Paris Fashion Week March 6, 2009.

Pamela Anderson is to host the opening of a strip club.

The blonde bombshell will appear alongside 'The Hills' reality TV star Audrina Partridge at the launch of Sapphire New York on April 27.

Gossip website Fox News reports: "While there are no guarantees that Pamela Anderson and Audrina Partridge will be flashing any flesh, the two Hollywood hotties have been booked to launch the new Gentleman's Club."

The new club will be part of eatery Prime 333 Steakhouse, which is situated on the Upper East Side. Lindsay Lohan's ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson will DJ at the event, while 'Sopranos' stars Vincent Curatola and Steve Schirripa are also set to attend.

Although Pamela is only booked to host the evening, she has previously proved she is a natural performer of raunchy routines.

Last year, she impressed the audience at Paris' iconic Le Crazy Horse saloon - a burlesque club - by performing a steamy striptease involving a sheer black body stocking and a motorcycle.

She said at the time: "It's a celebration of women. It's done very respectfully, very classy, and it's a wonderful show for women as well as for men. "This isn't for money. It's just for the love of the art, and the Crazy Horse does it best."

Bikini chef Pamela Anderson

Actress Pamela Anderson presents a creation by British designer Vivienne Westwood as part of her Fall/Winter 2009/10 women's ready-to-wear fashion collection during Paris Fashion Week March 6, 2009.

Pamela Anderson wants to host a vegan cooking show in a bikini.

The former 'Baywatch' actress would only star in another TV programme if she was allowed to don skimpy swimwear and film the series on a beach.

Writing on her blog, the 41-year-old blonde beauty said: "I've been cooking Vegan every day (myself) - experimenting - trying out new things - I still think I should have my own sexy/fun Vegan-cooking show?- maybe one day.

"Could always have Girls in bikinis cooking veggies on the beach. I keep getting crazy offers to go back on TV - I don't think I have the passion anymore for it. What is TV these days anyway? Sensory overload - too busy living the dream… (unless I could do the veggie bikini BBQ show) - I just don't think I could pull it off - no studio for me (sic)."

Pamela - who is a staunch vegan and animal rights activist - is currently working on a new natural fragrance line.

She wrote: "First fragrance is Raw by Pamela. Company is called pamela-super-enviro-conscious-cruelty free-yummy-natural-very-sexy-fragrance-I-wear-every-day. It will be available this summer in department stores, drug stores, affordable choices. I want to sell where I shop - nothing too fancy (sic)."

Pamela is also developing an environmentally-friendly swimwear range.

She added: "Making board shorts from eco fabrics and bikinis - (in progress) - very easy rider bohemian lifestyle - can't beat it."

Pamela Anderson stunned onlookers when she arrived at a prestigious art fair wearing just a T-shirt and underwear.

The 41-year-old star - who has two sons with ex-husband Tommy Lee - seemed unaware of the controversy she was causing at the Art Basel Miami Beach fair, and later posed for photographs bending over paintings with her butt in the air.

An onlooker said: "It was unbelievable. Her outfit was more suited to a party at the Playboy mansion than an important art event."
Pamela accessorised her orange and black underwear and grey T-shirt with patent pink shoes and a Campbell's Soup clutch handbag - paying tribute to revolutionary 60s artist Andy Warhol.

Other celebrities at the Florida event included Paris Hilton, who joined Pamela to look at 'Jesus Is My Homeboy', an exhibition featuring the work of photographer and movie director David LaChapelle.

As David showed the famous pair around his work, Pamela eagerly reached out to hug a photograph of herself.

Bra-less Pammie tells Baywatch secret

Pamela Anderson landed her role in Baywatch because she didn't wear a bra to her audition.

The 40-year-old beauty - who recently rekindled her relationship with ex-husband Tommy Lee - insists her breasts were the secret to her success on the hit US TV show.

Actress Pamela Anderson smiles during a news conference at Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi, ahead of a charity auction to support Make-A-Wish foundation, May 30, 2008. The auction will take place on May 31 at the Emirates Palace, and the highest bidder wins a private dinner with Anderson.

She told Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr while co-hosting UK talk show The Sunday Night project: "I didn't wear a bra to the audition. It's actually true. You had to have a swim test and I floated.

"You had to run in slow motion and swim in slow motion and then smile. I know how to work a defibrillator!"

Pamela also said she has kept the famous red swimsuit from the programme to wear in the bedroom.

She added: "I have one swimsuit left. I wear it. I use it for my boyfriend and stuff. In the shower and then I run in slow motion and then give my friends mouth to mouth resuscitation!

"I do miss it - it's the best job in the world."

Pamela Anderson's KFC complaint

Pamela Anderson has written to fast food chain KFC over the treatment of chickens on their supplier's farms. The former 'Baywatch' actress - who is no stranger to campaigning against cruelty to animals - teamed up with PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) Europe while she is in London, England, to send the letter to Martin Shuker, the Managing Director of KFC in the UK. In the letter, Pammie - who has been working with PETA against KFC for the last three years - wrote: "My friends at PETA Europe and I have a bone to pick with KFC over the treatment of birds on your supplier's factory farms. "Chickens are bred to grow so quickly they can barely walk and they stew in their own waste for their entire lives. This is Colonel Sanders' real 'secret recipe'.

Pamela Anderson, a cast member in "Superhero Movie," arrives at the premiere of the film in Los Angeles, March 27, 2008.

At slaughter, these poor animals are still conscious when they are snapped into metal shackles, often with broken legs. "They are shocked in an electrified water bath and many are still fully conscious when their necks are sliced open. Some are even burned to death in the scalding tank for feather removal." Pammie also referred to how KFC in Canada have changed their policies since receiving her letter of complaint and she has asked the British branches to consider doing the same.

She continued: "Last week, KFC Canada agreed to improve living and dying conditions for chickens and to add a vegetarian faux chicken to their menu in all their biggest markets, representing about eighty per cent of Canadian KFCs. Won't you follow their lead? "Until I hear from PETA that you will be agreeing to make changes similar to those agreed to by KFC Canada - and recommended by KFC's own animal welfare advisors - I will be boycotting KFC and encouraging everyone to watch my video expose at KentuckyFriedCruelty.com." Pamela is currently in London to co-host talk show 'The Sunday Night Project' with Justin Lee Collins and Alan Carr.
