Lady Gaga's cop trouble in Russia

Lady Gaga was almost arrested during a trip to Russia - because she was wearing leather.

The 'Poker Face' singer was approached by officers when she visited St. Basil's Cathedral, in Moscow, over her choice of outfit.

She wrote on her Twitter page at the weekend: "They tried to arrest me in Russia, for leather at St. Basil's. But all is calm in the red square, as I leave the east Parisbound. (sic)"

The 23-year-old pop star is well known for her skimpy outfits, and is regularly seen wearing just underwear on evenings out.

She has previously admitted her wacky fashion sense has caused her problems with the law, explaining a Chicago policeman once took exception to her tiny shorts.

She previously revealed: "I was outside the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago and this policeman came up and told me my hotpants were too short. They weren't really pants at all, but he got upset and I got a citation. All people will have seen is this half-naked girl on the street yelling, 'It's fashion! I'm an artist!' "

Lady Gaga is not the only celebrity to have recently caused upset with their appearance

Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden was forced to cover his arms on a recent flight from London after a British Airways attendant took offence to his tattoos.

Joel, the boyfriend of Nicole Richie, also took to Twitter to let off steam after the event.

He wrote: "I still can't believe Brit Air discriminated me for tatts. Unheard of. the guy was literally disgusted by me. I'm gonna write a letter!!

"its not in the rules that i can find.my tatts arent offensive.looking into it. i havent felt this small since the first time i asked nic out. (sic)"

A British Airways representative has since announced the worker is being reprimanded, adding: "We don't understand why the employee took it upon himself to enforce regulations that don't exist."

Parker, Broderick expecting twins by surrogate

In this April 27, 2009 file photo, actors Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker attend the premiere of 'Wonderful World' during the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival, in New York.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick will be taking on new roles: parents of twin girls.

The "Sex and the City" star and her actor-husband are expecting twins through a surrogate pregnancy, representatives for the couple said Tuesday.

Parker, 44, and Broderick, 47, "are happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate. The entire family is overjoyed," said a statement from the publicists.

The couple has a 6-year-old son, James Wilkie Broderick, and will mark their 12th wedding anniversary next month.

Details about the surrogate or her pregnancy were unavailable, the publicists said.

Parker starred in the "Sex and the City" TV series and the hit movie of the same name. Broderick's credits include the films "Glory" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and the Broadway musical "The Producers."

Another celebrity leaves `Dancing' country

In this photo released by ABC, Julianne Hough, left , and Chuck Wicks perform on Dancing with the Stars Monday April 27, 2009 in Los Angeles.

Chuck Wicks is leaving the "Dancing With the Stars" ballroom.

The country singer and his professional dance partner (and real-life girlfriend) Julianne Hough were eliminated from the ABC dance-off Tuesday.

Wicks had improved steadily throughout the season, earning praise from the judges for his "hip action" and fun-loving attitude. Judges loved their cha-cha Monday, with Carrie Ann Inaba insisting, "You are definitely in the game." Wicks also appeared in a group dance, which ended with him and his fellow male dancers in black leotards and white tights.

The 29-year-old musician came into Tuesday's results show with a solid 51 points out of 60, but fans failed to keep him afloat.

Viewer votes are combined with judges' scores to determine which couple is eliminated each week.

"To all the critics that thought we weren't going to last: We did it," Wicks said after learning his fate. "Now I'm going to go out on tour and enjoy doing what I love, and that's country music."

The week's low scorer, Melissa Rycroft, escaped elimination. She missed Monday's show because of a rib injury and earned just 21 out of 30 points from judges for a taped rehearsal performance.

"It shows you how many fans Melissa has," Wicks said, adding, "I think the team dance did us in."

Tuesday's results show also included a performance by Robin Thicke and the continuation of the new professional dance competition: Four pro dancers are vying for viewer votes and a spot on the next season of "Dancing With the Stars."

Besides Rycroft, four celebrity contestants remain: Rapper Lil Kim, rodeo champ Ty Murray, Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson and actor Gilles Marini.

Michael Douglas puts his money on "Wall Street"

Actor Michael Douglas arrives at the National Board Of Review of Motion Pictures awards gala in New York, January 15, 2008.

Actor Michael Douglas has signed on to reprise his role as ruthless corporate raider Gordon Gekko in a sequel to his 1987 movie "Wall Street," Twentieth Century Fox said on Tuesday.

Oliver Stone, who made the first movie, also has agreed to direct the sequel, which has working title of "Wall Street II" but no scheduled release date, Fox said.

Just as "Wall Street" epitomized the high-flying 1980s with Gekko's motto "greed is good," the sequel is expected to mirror the latest news from the credit crisis and the recession.

In the 1987 "Wall Street," Gekko is a powerful investor who schools a young protege in making money by shady means.

Production on the sequel is expected to begin this summer, and the screenplay comes from Allan Loeb, who helped pen the 2008 gambling movie "21" starring Kevin Spacey.

Douglas in recent years has starred in the 2006 romantic comedy "You, Me and Dupree" and the 2000 drama "Traffic," but his part as Gekko remains among his most memorable roles.

Stone's last film, the 2008 biopic "W." about former President George W. Bush, made only $29 million at worldwide box offices.

Applegate goes on People's `Most Beautiful' cover

In this Jan. 25, 2009 file photo, actress Christina Applegate arrives at the 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles.

A smiling Christina Applegate graces the cover of People magazine's "Most Beautiful" issue.

The 37-year-old actress, who recently battled breast cancer, certainly has much to celebrate: She says she's finally found her "perfect type" in her new beau, Dutch musician Martyn Lenoble (Mar-TAN Luh-NOBLE).

Applegate had a double mastectomy last July and reconstructive surgery months later. The star of ABC's "Samantha Who?" calls Lenoble an "angel" who loves her "from head to toe."

According to Applegate, Lenoble has been her "rock" and gave her reason to live — and smile.

The annual "Most Beautiful" issue features 100 famous faces, including Michelle Obama, Zac Efron and Cindy Crawford posing without makeup. It hits stands Friday.

Heidi Klum hopes for daughter

Pregnant Heidi Klum wants to have a girl.

The German model - who raises daughter Leni, five, and sons Henry, three, and two-year-old Johan with her musician husband Seal - would love another daughter to add to her brood.

She told Us Weekly magazine: "We would be happy with either. But it would be a lie if I said we all weren't hoping for a little girl - especially Leni, because she would love to have a little sister.

"She'll say, 'I hope it's a girl so she can be in my room, and I'm going to help you and I'm going to change the diapers and I'm going to be a really good sister!' "

Seal announced Heidi's pregnancy while he was performing in New York earlier this month, following days of speculation.

He told the audience: "The topic of debate outside our hotel is, 'Is Heidi having another baby?' Heidi and I are having another baby! I mean, Heidi is doing all the work!"

Rumours the 35-year-old model - who is believed to be around four months pregnant - was expecting first surfaced after details of the gowns she will wear on US reality TV series 'Project Runway' were leaked online.

The frocks were re-designed to accommodate her growing tummy.

Simon Cowell to Susan Boyle: "Get yourself together"

"Britain's Got Talent" contestant Susan Boyle gestures to onlookers in Blackburn in West Lothian, Scotland April 21, 2009.

Television's Simon Cowell said on Friday he was embarrassed at his initial reaction to British singing sensation Susan Boyle, but warned that just because she is a hit with fans, she is not a winner yet.

Cowell, the creator and a judge on "Britain's Got Talent," said he was fed up with stories about the hair, eyebrows and cats of the never-married 47-year-old Boyle, and he urged her to focus now on winning the television talent competition.

"She has got four weeks to prepare for the biggest night of her life, and she has got to sing better than she sang before with all those expectations on her. But it could all go horribly wrong for her because there are so many other distractions," Cowell told TV reporters in Los Angeles.

"Get yourself together sweetheart for the big one -- the semi-final. Shut the door, choose the right song and come back as who you are, not who you want to be," he said.

Boyle, a spinster who lives alone with her cat, became one of the world's hottest celebrities last week after surprising judges with her rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream" on the popular talent show. Her performance has been watched over 50 million times on YouTube.

"We were all guilty on the panel of judging her before she sang, and we got it utterly wrong. You watch it back and it is embarrassing," said Cowell, who is well-known as the acid-tongued judge on TV talent contest "American Idol."

"Britain's Got Talent" is open to anyone regardless of age or performing skills. It has 40 versions worldwide and the fourth season of the U.S. version, "America's Got Talent," kicks off on NBC on June 23.

"I am seriously thinking now we should hold two more open auditions (of "America's Got Talent") off the back of Susan Boyle. You don't have to be a singer who is 47 and never been kissed, but just someone who says 'I think I am talented, and I don't think people are going to judge me because of the way I look'," he said.

Recording executive Cowell, who has an option to sign Boyle if she wins the British talent show, shuttles weekly between Los Angeles and London as the judge on "American Idol" and "Britain's Got Talent."

But he dismissed suggestions that his life was stressful. "It's only stress when it doesn't work," he said. "I don't feel under any stress whatsoever when something like the Susan Boyle thing emerges. It is honestly the best feeling in the world."

Ben Stiller's 'drugged' chat-up

Ben Stiller had to take drugs to get the courage to talk to his now-wife.

The 'Night At The Museum' star - who is married to actress Christine Taylor - was so shy when he was younger, he could only talk to girls when he was high.

He said: "I wasn't good at picking up the girls. I've never been God's gift to the world. And I couldn't even chat up my wife until one day I injured my toe and because I was hopped up on painkillers I felt loose enough to talk to her.

"I was a little bit drugged. We started hanging out and having so much fun that she came to visit me in New York and never left."

It wasn't the first time the 43-year-old actor has experimented with drugs.

He told Britain's The Mail on Sunday newspaper: "I dabbled in drugs - just dabbled. I did LSD once, only once. It was peer pressure, a high-school thing. But it was scary and I didn't like feeling out of control.

"It was a very bad trip - I freaked out and called my parents and tried to explain to my dad what I was feeling, but all he said was, 'I understand what you're going through. When I was a teenager I smoked a Pall Mall cigarette and I got sick for two days.'

I'm like, 'Dad, no, this is worse. You don't understand.' But they had never had any experience of the drug culture, because they were working so hard all through the 1960s."

Brad Pitt blocks bodyguard book

U.S. actor Brad Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie attend the Japan premiere of Pitt's movie "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" in Tokyo January 29, 2009.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have stopped their former bodyguard releasing a tell-all book.

The couple - who have been dating for four years and raise six children together - hired top US and UK lawyers to prevent Mickey Brett revealing details of their private lives in a novel and TV show.

The book proposal would have been based around Brett's first-person account of his years protecting a number of Hollywood stars, including Sandra Bullock, Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere, according to the New York Daily News newspaper.

Marty Singer, Brad and Angelina's US litigator, says Brett was bound by a confidentiality agreement and is legally not allowed to comment.

He also claimed Brett is a "pathological liar" and revealed he has been convicted of 11 different crimes.

Brett has denied trying to sell stories.

He claims he had not given the project the all-clear, and says most of the tales were created by his ghost writer Robin McGibbon.

Brett's lawyers said: "Our client disputes what has apparently been said by Mr. Singer, but is not in a position to comment further at this stage."

However, McGibbon insists the bodyguard is lying.

He explained: "Mickey was definitely going to consider a book or TV deal if the offer was good enough. But at this point, there's not going to be any book."

Zhang Ziyi attends romantic wedding of Salma Hayek

Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi and her prospective husband Vivi Nevo arrived for actress Salma Hayek's wedding in Venice, Italy.

Mexican actress Salma Hayek and her husband, French billionaire Fran?ois-Henri Pinault, tied the knot for the second time on April 25, in a star-studded ceremony in Venice, Italy, foreign media reports.

Hayek married French businessman Francois-Henri Pinault at the City Hall in Paris on February 14 this year in a low-key service.

Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi and her prospective husband Vivi Nevo were in attendance, along with other celebrity friends of the couple, including Penélope Cruz, Edward Norton, Woody Harrelson, Olivier Martinez and former French President Jacques Chirac.

The wedding was a black tie affair. Zhang Ziyi and Neno were spotted hand-in-hand wearing black as they arrived for the nuptials.

'Suppressed' schoolgirl Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga had to "suppress" herself during her schooldays.

The 'Poker Face' singer - famed for her outrageous dress sense - liked to experiment with fashion when she was younger but was mocked by her peers so felt she could no longer express herself through clothes.

She said: "When I was at high school, I had to wear a uniform but I always bent the rules, by pulling my skirt up or shirt down and was told I was being too provocative.

"When we had off-days where we didn't have to wear uniforms, I used to wear my outfits and I would really get made fun of. It lost me my self-confidence and I suppressed myself for a while."

The 'Let's Dance' also revealed her mother helped pick out her outfits and was happy to buy her unusual items of clothing.

She said: "My mom helped me express myself and she'd come home with items such as Spandex, air brush T-shirts, bright coloured visors and all things other people wouldn't wear."

Jennifer Garner seeing sex counsellor?

Jennifer Garner is seeing a sex counsellor, according to reports.

The 'Ghosts of Girlfriends Past' actress - who has two daughters, three-year-old Violet and three-month-old Seraphina, with her husband Ben Affleck - has been spotted visiting renowned therapist Dr. Holly Hein several times.

A source told National Enquirer magazine: "Jennifer has had some ups and downs with Ben, and she likes to check in with Dr. Hein once in a while."

Jennifer reportedly asks Holly for tips on spicing up her love life, and also discusses any issues she has with Ben, 36.

The source explained: "Ben's great, but he can be very insecure. He likes Jennifer to play the devoted wife all the time.

"Jennifer doesn't want to lose him, she's in this for the long haul."

This is not the first time Jennifer has been seen with Holly.

Last December, a heavily-pregnant Jennifer was seen enjoying a cup of coffee with the therapist in Los Angeles.

Robert Pattinson scared to love

Robert Pattinson fears he will "ruin" prospective girlfriend's lives.

The 22-year-old star - who shot to fame after starring in 2008 vampire movie 'Twilight' - is too nervous to date in case the pressure of being seen with him becomes too much.

He said: "I'm always really worried about ruining their lives. Especially with people that aren't famous. It's such a massive change. I'm kind of a paranoid wreck."

Robert also revealed he still hasn't got used to seeing his face in magazines.

He explained to US TV show 'Entertainment Tonight': "It's getting photographed. You have people who analyse your facial expressions to the tiniest degree. So you're just trying to avoid getting photographed. You're like, 'Jesus, you can't win!' "

Robert has previously admitted he finds his new sex symbol status confusing, revealing he was never a hit with women when he was growing up.

He revealed: "It's funny, but about a year ago I'd talk to girls and no one would be interested. Then when it was announced I would be in 'Twilight' and the book's author gave me her seal of approval, everyone seemed to change their mind. The attention I get now is just mind bending."

Britney Spears fights for gay rights

Britney Spears supports gay marriage.

The 'Circus' singer - who passionately kissed Madonna on stage at the MTV Awards in 2003 - has vowed to fight for homosexual rights.

Writing on her Twitter page, Britney said: "Love is love! People should be able to do whatever makes them happy. I have lots of gay and lesbian friends and I want to see them get married.

"I'll do whatever it takes to make their dreams come true. Discrimination has no place in America."

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old pop star is currently struggling with the choreography in her current tour 'The Circus Starring Britney Spears'.

The dance routines are reportedly so demanding they make her vomit.

A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "The choreography is insane - it's so fast it is really taking its toll on her. But there is one move during 'Touch Of My Hand', where two guys dangle from the ceiling and pick her up upside down, which is really getting to her.

"She spins around for nearly five minutes some nights. The blood rushes to her head and when she gets down she complains of nausea and dizziness. There have been a couple of times when she ran off stage and vomited. She's asked if it can be changed."

Gavin Rossdale romanced man?

Singers Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale pose as they arrive at the 2009 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in West Hollywood, California February 22, 2009.

Gavin Rossdale had a five-year relationship with a male pop star.

The former Bush singer - who has two sons with wife Gwen Stefani and a daughter from a previous relationship - allegedly had a long romance with androgynous British singer Marilyn in the 80s.

Marilyn, 46, said: "He was the love of my life. We were together five years, but it felt like 40."

In 1995, singer Boy George - a close friend of Marilyn - alleged Gavin, 43, and Marilyn had had an affair in his autobiography 'Take It Like A Man' but both men denied the claims.

However, Marilyn - real name Peter Robinson - insists he lied in order to protect the 'Swallowed' singer's burgeoning career.

The 'Calling Your Name' star added to In Touch Weekly magazine: "He was just becoming successful in America. I agreed to lie against every grain of my being."

Responding to Boy George's claims, Gavin previously said: "I wasn't dating Marilyn. We were, and still are, good friends. George thinks everyone is gay."

Boy George - real name George O'Dowd - insisted the story was true and alleged that Gavin had begged him not to include details of his gay romance in his book.

George recalled: "When I was writing 'Take It Like A Man', Bush were well on their way to rock stardom and he appeared at my house to persuade me not to include him and Marilyn.

"I agreed to leave some stuff out but I wasn't prepared to lie. I don't think Marilyn has ever really got over Gavin."

Lady Gaga jealous of 'celebrity' cup

Lady Gaga has been shouting at her teacup.

The 'Poker Face' singer, who is regularly photographed with the cup, is furious her cherished crockery is receiving more attention than she is.

She said in a radio interview: "My teacup is so famous. I yelled at her today I said, 'You're stealing my thunder go to bed!' "You know now it's a gimmick and it's just my teacup. That's my teacup that I like to take everywhere it makes me feel at home. It's become a celebrity."

The 23-year-old star - who refuses to drink from any other cup and saucer - says the china set helps her cope with bouts of homesickness.

She revealed: "I asked the people I work with to try to make me feel at home. I miss home sometimes and I drink a lot of tea so instead of drinking from paper I ask for china." Earlier this week, the 'Just Dance' hitmaker reportedly threw a tantrum after leaving the teacup at a restaurant in London.

A source said: "She kicked up a fuss and demanded someone get her cup and saucer back. "She wouldn't drink out of anything else. It just looked like any other cup and saucer to me and said 'Made in China' on the bottom. It seemed a lot of fuss over nothing."

`Tyson' a knockout documentary

In this image released by Sony Pictures Classics, Mike Tyson is shown in a scene from, 'Tyson.'

He wants your heart, he wants to eat your children.

But Mike Tyson also has a sensitive side, one he candidly reveals in James Toback's documentary, "Tyson."

Actually, calling it a documentary suggests many voices and sources contributing to paint an objective, balanced picture of the larger-than-life former fighter. You won't see that here. Instead, you get wall-to-wall Tyson and nothing else — an extended monologue, a stream-of-consciousness couch confessional — which makes for riveting viewing. (Toback does include footage of young Tyson as a baby-faced contender, as well as the infamous child-eating comment directed at Lennox Lewis and, of course, that little love nibble on Evander Holyfield's ear.)

We already knew he was a born showman and a volatile force — "I was knockin' everybody out in spectacular fashion," he says of his rise to dominance in the late 1980s — but "Tyson" also reveals him as a natural storyteller and an athlete surprisingly capable of eloquent introspection. He describes in detail being bullied in the rough Brownsville section of Brooklyn as a child, which led to his first fight. And he still gets choked up nearly 25 years later remembering the death of his beloved trainer and father figure, Cus D'Amato.

But he also recalls his brief marriage to Robin Givens as being "disastrous" and describes Desiree Washington — the woman whose rape accusation landed him in prison for three years — as "that wretched swine of a woman."

Will the real Mike Tyson please stand up? Apparently he's all these people and more and he's not afraid to show them to you — and that mix of unpredictability and vulnerability makes Tyson, and "Tyson," thrilling to watch.

Tyson is so fascinating, in fact, that Toback didn't need to include images of the fighter in various split-screens, with the video and audio overlapping to create the impression that he's talking over himself. It's a technique the director goes to early, and you hope he'll quickly abandon it, but no — he comes back to it again and again. Ostensibly, he took this approach to break up the visuals; that would also explain the images of Tyson strolling along the beach at sunset, which resemble something you'd see in a commercial for feminine hygiene products. But it's more of a distraction then anything else.

Toback also omits a few details that are begging to be explained. For example, Tyson states toward the end of the film that his main function now is to be a father to his six kids. "Tyson" introduces us to the mother of two of them, ex-wife Monica Turner, but never bothers to inform us where the other four came from. (Tyson himself serves as a producer on the movie, and while he's willing to share many personal thoughts with us, others clearly remain off-limits.)

Having said that, he's obviously comfortable with Toback, who's been a friend since 1985 and who previously directed him with Neve Campbell in "When Will I Be Loved" and a truly bizarre scene opposite Robert Downey Jr. in "Black and White." It seems unlikely that any other filmmaker could provide such an intimate look at such a complicated figure.

"Tyson," a Sony Pictures Classics release, is rated R for language including sexual references. Running time: 88 minutes. Three stars out of four.

Lindsay Lohan's Samantha split confusion

Lindsay Lohan didn't realise she had split from girlfriend Samantha Ronson for a week.

The 'Mean Girls' actress - whose tumultuous romance with the 31-year-old DJ ended earlier this month - admits it took her several days to understand her relationship had broken down.

Asked if there is anything more difficult than playing out the end of a relationship in the public eye, Lindsay replied: "When you don't know you're breaking up. Really weird.

"I had no idea what was going on. I just hadn't seen her in like a week. She like, disappeared."

Despite her initial shock Lindsay claims she has now come to terms with the break-up, but refuses to rule out reuniting with Samantha.

She told US TV talk show host Ellen DeGeneres: "When people are together so much it gets really difficult and you forget who you are because you're more concerned about being with the other person, I think it's been really good for me. I thought it would be so much harder and it hasn't been. I've had great people surrounding me.

"I really care about Samantha and we'll see what happens. Maybe when we're fully in the right place. And I love her."

Lindsay also rubbished claims Samantha ended their affair because she cheated on the DJ, insisting she does not believe in infidelity.

The 22-year-old star is now planning to focus on her acting career and already has plans to star in a new movie.

She explained: "I feel like I want to get my career back in shape. There are some shows I'm producing that I'm really excited about. I'm doing a movie in October."

Liv Tyler's passionate workout

Liv Tyler is dating her personal trainer.

The 'Lord of the Rings' star was photographed passionately hugging and kissing David Hirsch after an intimate lunch in Westwood, New Jersey, yesterday (22.04.09)

Dressed in a sexy black and white backless sundress, Liv and her new man - who showed off his buff body in a tight green T-shirt and fitted beige trousers - couldn't keep their hands off each other as they walked to his car, stopping in the parking lot several times to kiss and cuddle.

The actress couldn't stop smiling and seemed totally smitten with her new lover.

The 31-year-old actress has been single since last year, when she announced she was divorcing British musician Royston Langdon - with whom she has a four-year-old son, Milo.

Liv recently revealed she felt physically sick when she split from her husband last May, and still finds the break-up difficult to come to terms with.

She said: "There's nothing worse than heartache, being lovesick. It's like there's a physical sickness. You go through a couple of weeks where you think, 'Oh, I'm OK, I feel better,' and then suddenly, out of nowhere, it hits you again.

"The hardest part is when they move out. It also brings up a lot of issues - you might feel like a failure, or like there is something wrong with you. You can't run away from yourself - you kind of have to just deal with it."

Beyonce says "definitely" wants Broadway role

Beyonce arrives at the 81st Academy Awards in Hollywood, California February 22, 2009.

Grammy Award winning singer and actress Beyonce Knowles has a plan to settle down in a couple of years and have some children with her husband, hip hop mogul Jay-Z, do less touring and -- debut on Broadway.

"It's my ideal job," Knowles told Reuters, while promoting her latest film role in "Obsessed," in which she plays a wife who takes on her husband's stalker.

"I'll be able to go to the theater every day and drop my kids off and maybe make some food -- maybe I'll know how to cook by then -- and then go do what I love and have some normalcy and have a regular schedule."

"I definitely want to do Broadway."

Knowles, 27, said she loved playing Sharon Charles in "Obsessed," which opens in U.S. theaters on Friday, her first non-singing film role after performances in screen musicals including "Cadillac Records" and "Dreamgirls."

"I love this role because in most of these movies the man comes in and saves the day. And my character Sharon is the hero. She's strong and doesn't choose to be the victim, call her husband, call the police, hide in the attic -- she fights," said Knowles.

The singer's "I Am..." world tour, which begins this week in Croatia, is dramatic but, "I wouldn't say Broadway," said Knowles , who has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide.

"It's really theatrical and I do, of course, all of the singles."

The summer trek, which will support the trio's May 15 album "21st Century Breakdown" (Reprise Records), heads clockwise through Canada and the U.S. The band plays Midwest, East Coast and Southern dates before finishing up in Los Angeles on August 25. Venues will be announced at a later date.

The new album, which follows 2004's Billboard 200-topping "American Idiot," was produced by Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins). Green Day will celebrate the release with a previously announced show at New York's Bowery Ballroom on May 18.

`Desperate Housewives' death draws no crowd

Eva Longoria, a cast member of "Desperate Housewives" arrives at The Paley Center for Media's Paleyfest 09 in Los Angeles, Saturday, April 18, 2009.

The death of Edie Britt didn't draw much of a crowd to ABC's "Desperate Housewives."

Sunday's episode of the comic soap, where Nicollette Sheridan's memorable character was killed off via electrocution when her car hit a power pole, was seen by 13.9 million people on Sunday, according to Nielsen Media Research.

That's good for a Top 10 showing, but smaller than the 15.2 million original episodes have averaged this season. "Desperate Housewives" has been off the air with original episodes for a month, and ABC says the serial often takes awhile to build up steam when it returns.

ABC has debuted an unusual amount of new programs in recent weeks, almost like a fall season, with similarly mixed results. The new product is partly a reflection of last year's Hollywood writers strike, which delayed production of many series, and partly a test-drive of new shows that might make the fall schedule.

Of the new shows, the Bob Saget comedy "Surviving Suburbia" seems the best bet to return. It had a bigger audience than anything on ABC except for "Desperate Housewives" and "Dancing With the Stars" last week.

The quirky cop drama "The Unusuals" and the remake "Cupid" had virtually the same sized audience — just over 6 million — but ABC executives are said to be much higher on "The Unusuals."

The drama "Castle" did better, but is on the bubble. ABC has already pulled the comedy "In the Motherhood" off the air and, since its audience was roughly the same last week, "Better Off Ted" may be better off dead.

CBS won the week with an average of 9.9 million viewers (6.3 rating, 11 share). Fox had 9.3 million viewers (5.5, 9), but easily won among its prized 18-to-49-year-old audience. ABC had 7.5 million viewers (4.8, 8), NBC had 6.3 million (4.0, 7), My Network TV had 1.6 million and the CW had 1.5 million (both 1.0, 2) and ION Television had 620,000 (0.4, 1).

A ratings point represents 1,145,000 households, or 1 percent of the nation's estimated 114.5 million TV homes. The share is the percentage of in-use televisions tuned to a given show.

For the week of April 13-19, the top 10 shows, their networks and viewerships: "American Idol" (Tuesday), Fox, 24.38 million; "American Idol" (Wednesday), Fox, 24.11 million; "Dancing with the Stars," ABC, 19.46 million; "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," CBS, 15.72 million; "Dancing with the Stars Results," ABC, 15.24 million; "Two and a Half Men," CBS, 15.03 million; "Desperate Housewives," ABC, 13.85 million; "NCIS," CBS, 13.56 million; "CSI: Miami," CBS, 15.03 million; "Without a Trace," CBS, 13.23 million.

Emma Watson predicting Potter pain

Emma Watson will be an "uncontrollable" wreck when she finishes filming 'Harry Potter'.

The British star is devastated at the thought of not working with the cast and crew members when shooting on the hit franchise wraps next year.

She said: "I will be uncontrollable. It's been half of our lives. It's made us, it's formed us. It's such a big part of my life, so it will be really sad - and so much of the crew who have been there since the beginning are like my family."

Despite working on the boy wizard movies for over 10 years, the 19-year-old actress admits she doesn't socialise with her main co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint off set.

She explained to Interview magazine: "To be honest, we see so much of each other when we're working that hanging out together would be overload. I love them, but I need to see other friends off set. They're like my siblings now.

"We will always be very important to each other. But, at the same time, after eight 'Harry Potter' films, we'll be ready to go and do other things, and be other people, and have time for ourselves."

Emma is set to start at Yale University this September.

Rihanna 'dating' sports star

Rihanna is dating a professional basketball player.

The 'Umbrella' singer - whose on/off boyfriend Chris Brown has pleaded not guilty to assaulting her - enjoyed an intimate dinner with Los Angeles Lakers' star Andrew Bynum at Mastro's Steakhouse in Beverly Hills on Friday (17.04.09).

A source told gossip website X17online: "They looked very couple-y, sitting real close to each other in the car."

This is the first time Rihanna, 21, has been spotted out with a man since she and Chris decided to take time away from each other to reflect on their relationship.

Chris has been charged with felony assault and making criminal threats after he allegedly punched, bit and choked Rihanna until she was unconscious in his car on February 8.

Although Rihanna and Chris, 19, initially reunited after the incident, they have not been seen together in recent weeks.

Chris sparked rumours he has moved on when he was spotted visiting a tattoo parlour with Girlicious singer Natalie Mejia.

Natalie refused to deny reports she was romantically involved with Chris, saying at the time: "Things are going well between us but I really do not want to comment much more than that right now."

Cowell says he'd jump ship if "Idol" sinks

Simon Cowell, one of the judges on the American Idol television show, is interviewed as he arrives for the show's season finale in Los Angeles, California, May 21, 2008.

"American Idol" judge Simon Cowell says he will leave the most popular show on television if it ever slips from the top spot in the ratings.

"The idea that for the next five years, I'd be doing exactly what I've been doing for the past five years ... the thought is just too depressing," Cowell said in a recent interview in his trailer, awaiting a taping of "Idol" at CBS Television City. "I'd go nuts, bored out of my mind. You have to evolve, you have to change. I like the challenge of launching something new."

With Cowell's deal with Fox expiring at the end of next season, that something new could be a U.S. version of his U.K. singing competition series "The X Factor." Any doubts about Cowell's role in the success of "Idol" disappeared when he launched "Factor" three years ago. The similarly formatted show became a massive hit that has since supplanted "American Idol" predecessor "Pop Idol."

The "Factor" success was worrisome enough for Fox to forbid Cowell from launching the show in the U.S. while he's under his current "Idol" deal. But all that could soon change. Between the continuing popularity of "Idol" and Cowell's ownership of "Factor," he's armed with both a carrot and a stick.

Asked if he would want to stay on "Idol" if the series ever slips from No. 1 in the ratings, Cowell burst out laughing at the apparent obviousness of the answer.

"Absolutely not!" he said, looking horrified. "Being No. 1 is verging on an obsession with me. I don't like being No. 2. I don't mind when you start at No. 10 -- people don't always go on as No. 1 -- and you've got somewhere to go. But if you're at the point you've reached it, of course you want to stay there."

Though the "Idol" audience has declined over the past few seasons, the show remains far and away the ratings champ, with about 22 million viewers per episode. No other program approaches its popularity.

Unlike many in the TV business, Cowell rejects the claim that "Idol" ratings erosion is inevitable.

"I don't accept the argument of fragmentation or declining numbers," he said. "The Super Bowl goes up every year."

"Factor," he noted, also has increased its audience every year, which suggested to Cowell that the U.S. is ready for another music competition series.

"We have to bring in another music show," he said. "In the U.K., there is more than one type of music show running throughout the year. And I think the same thing could happen here, because for the fall, nothing really happens. It's something we've been thinking about ... I would definitely do it now."

"Maybe it'll be 'X Factor,'" he teased vaguely. "Maybe it'll be something new."

Hugh Jackman sinks hands into Hollywood history

Hugh Jackman signs his name during a ceremony where the actor places his hand and foot prints in cement in front of the Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood April 21, 2009.

Hugh Jackman, star of the upcoming "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," immortalized his name in Hollywood history on Tuesday by sinking his hand and foot prints into cement outside the famous Grauman's Chinese Theater.

The movie house on Hollywood Boulevard is a key tourist attraction, where for 82 years stars such as Cary Grant and Judy Garland have been honored by stamping their own signed hand and foot prints into the theater's forecourt.

Jackman recalled a previous trip to the venue with his wife, saying it was the first Hollywood landmark he visited in Los Angeles, and while there he put his hands into the prints of late comedian Peter Sellers.

"Here we are, 12 years later," he told a crowd at the ceremony.

"It's a very humbling moment as an actor to be here. You look down at the names, from Fred Astaire to Cary Grant, Clint Eastwood, Al Pacino, Steve McQueen, John Wayne, and to think that those people have been immortalized and pretty soon I'll be putting my hands in wet cement," Jackman said, before planting his palms in the concrete.

In two weeks, the Australian actor debuts the new "X-Men Origins" movie, reprising his role as conflicted "mutant" Wolverine, who battles other, evil mutants trying to control the world.

Wolverine has sharp blades that protrude from his knuckles. He is among the most popular of X-Men comic book characters on which the films are based. There have been three "X-Men" movies, and combined they have grossed more than $1.1 billion at global box offices.

Jackman, 40, is known as a versatile actor who has starred in a range of movies from action adventures like "Swordfish" to romances such as last year's "Australia." He has enjoyed a Tony-winning stage career on Broadway and recently hosted Hollywood's Oscars.

Coco Lee promotes "Bring Your Own Bag" campaign

Hong Kong-born singer Coco Lee poses for photographers during an Earth Day promotional event titled "Bring Your Own Bag" (BYOB) in Taipei April 20, 2009. Earth Day will be celebrated on April 22.

"Bring your own bag and stop using plastic bags" was the message highlighted by Chinese pop star Coco Lee on Monday prior to the annual Earth Day.

Lee, who has been invited by the National Geographic to speak for the Earth Day on April 22, promoted the idea of BYOB (Bring Your Own Bag) at a press conference in Taipei.

The singer, who used to study bioscience at the University of California Irvine, says she is deeply concerned about the challenges brought to the Earth by global warming and in particular the huge daily consumption of plastic bags.

"It's time to re-think about our way of living," Lee said as she released a music video entitled "BYOB", calling on people to start saving the Earth by stopping using plastic bags.

The video will soon be available on DVDs. Proceeds from its sales will be used to finance various environmental campaigns.

Amy Winehouse needs pain

Amy Winehouse needs to be "hurt" by her husband to get over him, says the singer's mother.

Janis Winehouse is convinced the 'Back to Black' singer, whose husband Blake Fielder Civil has filed for divorce, will continue to love her estranged spouse until he breaks her heart.

Amy is believed to have told friends she still has feelings for him, despite reports Blake has fathered a baby with a woman he met in rehab earlier this year.

Janis told Britain's Heat magazine: "Amy needs to be hurt by him, in order to see him for what he really is. In a way this will be good for her as it will open up her eyes. I just hope that this revelation helps to get the divorce moving."

Earlier this week, it was reported Amy is considering adopting a child from St. Lucia after discovering Blake - who has filed for divorce citing Amy's infidelity - is set to become a father.

The 25-year-old troubled star is currently staying on the Caribbean island after finding the lure of London's nightlife too great and is even rumoured to be considering settling there permanently.

Lady Gaga ashamed of name

Lady Gaga refuses to answer to her real name.

The 'Poker Face' singer - whose original moniker is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta - was given her stage name by her manager when she was 19 and that is the only name she will respond to.

The 23-year-old star said: "Lady Gaga was a nickname given to me by my manager and it's stuck. I started using it properly when I was 19 as I was fed up with people yelling about 800 names at my every day.

So I just told everyone call me Gaga, it makes it much easier as that way I know who everyone is talking to."

The blonde star - who is famed for her outrageous fashion sense - also revealed classical music inspired her to pursue a chart career.

The 'Just Dance' hitmaker says classical songs are very similar to the layout of pop tunes and wanted to pen hits after hearing the work of German composer Johann Sebastian Bach.

She said: "Pop music is very similar to classical music. If you listen to Bach you'll hear all his tunes go the same way as a pop record. It helped me to become a good songwriter."

Prince Harry Dating Glamorous TV Show Host?

Caroline Flack, centre, and Prince Harry leave the party.

Prince Harry, who had split from long-term girlfriend Chelsy Davy three months ago, was spotted with glamorous television host Caroline Flack, according to a report on the Daily Mail Sunday.

The two were spotted outside a London flat late on Friday, which added fuel to the speculation that there is a romantic link between them.

The 27-year-old presenter Caroline Flack, known for host of Sky TV show Gladiators, has known Harry for a year. However, the link between the two has not been made public until now.

"They were having a great time and you could hear music, laughter and the clinking of glasses coming from within. Harry and Caroline were clearly getting along very well, they were laughing and joking and their body language showed they were relaxed in each other's company," the 'Daily Mail' quoted an onlooker as saying.

A spokeswoman for Flack said Saturday: 'There is no romantic link at all. They were with a large group of people. I believe they went on somewhere else but I'm not sure where.'

Documentary on Britney Spears

The woman arrested for breaking into Britney Spears' property claims she was filming a documentary.

Former 'American Idol' contestant Miranda Tozier-Robbins - who was taken into custody after she was found peering into the windows of Britney's house in Calabasas, California, last week - insists she was simply recording a film to help boost her career.

She said: "The documentary is more or less just, you know, on the way to Britney's house, going the bicycle ride, the camping out in the woods."

Tozier-Robbin is in Los Angeles pursuing an "entertainment industry career" and claims making the film was simply a way for her to get work.

She said: "I learned my lesson. What I was doing was paparazzi work preparation. I'd like to do some paparazzi gigs - it's a start.

"There's no obsession with Britney. Somebody else can go ahead and claim the title of Britney's stalker, because I sure as heck don't want it you know!"

Tozier-Robbins was found on Britney's property wearing camouflage fatigues and carrying a video camera and backpack.

She was booked on charges of trespassing and disorderly conduct and her bail was set at $5,000.

She is due to appear in court on June 6 and says she is looking forward to the hearing because she wants the video she was shooting to be returned.

DioGuardi on being `Idol' judge: It's not easy

In this Feb. 6, 2009 file photo, Kara DioGuardi arrives at the MusiCares Person of the Year Tribute honoring Neil Diamond in Los Angeles.

When Kara DioGuardi accepted her job as the fourth judge on "American Idol," she did not immediately grasp the enormity of a full-time gig on the most-watched TV show in the United States.

"I probably in my own way didn't really take in what a huge thing it was, just `cause it would be so overwhelming," she said. "Until I kind of showed up and was like, `Oh my god, what am I doing here? This is, like, huge!' And then it really hit me when we went live that, wow, `I got to speak live in front of 30 million people?'"

Since joining the judges' panel, DioGuardi has weathered the curve balls of live television, eye rolls from Simon Cowell and criticism of her judging abilities by the viewer peanut gallery. As the eighth season progresses to a showdown between Adam Lambert and Someone Else, the 38-year-old songwriter and producer's "saving grace" has been connecting with the finalists and helping steer them in the right direction, by way of her industry expertise.

"It's not an easy job," DioGuardi said in an interview from Los Angeles. "I mean, there was nothing wrong with that panel. It wasn't like I had to fix something. It was great. So to come in and kind of be part of it was really tricky. ...

"So I look at it sometimes and I think, `All right, maybe I could have done this better or that better,' but I'm literally just trying not to" act like "a bumbling moron because I'm so, you know, nervous at times," she said.

Adding a fourth judge to the veteran threesome of Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Cowell was part of series of changes producers implemented this season to shake up the franchise. A 13th contestant, picked in a wild card round, joined the top dozen. A one-time rule allowed judges to save contestant Matt Giraud from voter elimination.

And — in an "Idol" first — only two judges were allowed to review a singer last Tuesday to save time. The show has been running over schedule, which Cowell blamed on DioGuardi and Abdul talking too much.

"Of course, we're going to have time issues — you added a fourth judge! What did you think? I was going to just sit there and, you know, like do a grading system on my hands? Which probably I would mess up because you know how my remedial math is," DioGuardi joked, referring to the now-classic blunder she made while reviewing Lambert ("I've got six words for you: One of the best performances of the night!").

Cecile Frot-Coutaz, an executive producer on "Idol," said producers envisioned a fourth judge could create a time crunch.

"It's hard for (the judges) to figure out whether they've spoken for 30 seconds or 45 seconds, so ... we're going to try and help them with that and give them a sense of their timing so that we keep it under control a bit more," Frot-Coutaz said.

DioGuardi, whose criticism can be as long-winded as Cowell's is blunt, said she's making an effort to cut her comments short. She seems to have scaled back in the last couple weeks.

Her remarks are generally rife with musical jargon (especially "artistry") and she has been an unwitting target of hecklers in the studio audience. Recently, cast-off Megan Corkey's brother shouted: "Broken record!"

"Kara's opinion is so irrelevant that I don't think people even listen to it," said Dave Della Terza, founder of VoteForTheWorst.com, which encourages "Idol" viewers to vote for bad-yet-entertaining singers. He derided DioGuardi as humorless and unskilled at thinking on her feet.

DioGuardi, who has worked with such singers as Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion and Kelly Clarkson, said she tries to tune out the negativity and focus on her goal: "to help America find the best `Idol' and to help these kids."

It's clear she takes her job very seriously. In conversation, she offered unprompted, thoughtful analyses of various finalists; she often schedules one-on-one advising sessions with hopefuls after they get voted off.

As for her recent on-camera gaffes, including a reference to the legendary New York club Studio 54 as "Studio 57," she said: "It's OK. I'll poke fun at myself and I'll look like an idiot on that front. But I want to make sure that what I'm telling them makes sense and it has meaning."

How does she fit in with Cowell and the gang?

"I'm a combination of them in different ways," she said. "I think I can be hard sometimes and then soft in other times, depending on what I think the contestant needs."

Frot-Coutaz said the four-judge system has worked thus far, and viewers have responded positively to DioGuardi.

"We're certainly not talking about going back to three at this point. ... We're pleased with the fourth judge," she said.

Plus, Frot-Coutaz noted, DioGuardi provided one of the season's greatest moments: Her feud with Katrina "Bikini Girl" Darrell during the audition rounds, when the judge — a talented singer in her own right — told the scantily clad wannabe to bring a stripper pole next time.

The exchange, viewed by some as immature on DioGuardi's part, revealed an intriguing glimpse into her personality — less Pollyanna, more Troublemaker.

DioGuardi said she's funnier than she appears on the show. But she's not completely stiff.

"I noticed that my hands go all over the place, and sometimes I look like I'm a gesticulating fool," she said. "You know, it's very Italian."

Low-budget movie sweeps centenary awards

The Way We Are, an unglamorous but moving portrait of a working-class town best known for its poverty and violence, has swept the top honors at the Hong Kong Film Awards.

Best new performer award winner and youngest nominee, Xu Jiao (right) waves as she arrives at the Hong Kong Film Awards presentation ceremony. AFP

The docu-drama, produced with a low budget and little-known cast, took the best director, best actress, best supporting actress and best screenplay gongs at Hong Kong's biggest annual film event, which also marked the 100th anniversary of the city's film industry.

The movie gives voices to the ordinary residents of Tin Shui Wai, a Hong Kong town near the border with the Chinese mainland, which in recent years has suffered a string of tragedies involving suicide and domestic violence.

"When I was young, I always thought I could only prove myself a great director if I won awards at Cannes (Film Festival)," said veteran director Ann Hui as she received her award at the glittering ceremony held in the Hong Kong Cultural Center. "But now that I am old, I think getting the award from my own people is my greatest honor."

Paw Hee-ching, 59, who grabbed the best actress award for playing a single mother in the drama, praised Hui.

"There was no money, no all-star cast. There was only a director with great enthusiasm and excellent work attitude, who managed to turn a film like this into a spectacular achievement," she said.

Zac Efron carefully plotting next move

With this past weekend's $23.7 million opening of "17 Again," Zac Efron has taken his first successful step toward carving out a career beyond the "High School Musical" franchise that shot him to popularity.

Now he faces the even trickier prospect of building on that momentum as he plots his next move.

"I'm looking very carefully at the movies being offered," Efron said last week on the eve of "17's" bow. "It's about taking my fan base with me but then doing movies that open me up to a broader level."

To that end, "17" could be considered a cinematic bar mitzvah of sorts: The 21-year-old actor proved that he is more than just another pretty boy and that he could be on the verge of becoming a young leading man.

Certainly, some in Hollywood are rooting for him. With such A-listers as Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp well into their 40s and Matt Damon and Ben Affleck moving through their 30s, the industry is hungrily looking for new matinee idols to replenish its stock.

Just a few years ago, Efron was scoring parts like Pizza Delivery Guy in the pilot for the short-lived NBC series "Heist," but when "High School Musical" exploded -- first on Disney Channel, then as a theatrical spin-off in October -- Efron showed a talent for winning over the hearts of young girls.

The question now is whether Efron can take it beyond a tween following, which alone wouldn't make for career longevity. Can he parlay his singing and dancing abilities into a full-fledged career, as John Travolta has?

STAR QUALITY

"17," one in a long line of body-swapping comedies -- older guy Matthew Perry re-experiences high school in the guise of Efron -- hardly was designed to please persnickety critics. But a few have come forward to compliment the young actor.

"Though Efron's acting range is limited, he has a genial charm and decent comic timing," Claudia Puig wrote in USA Today. Added Stephanie Zacharek at Salon.com, "He appears not to be hung up on his looks -- he talks and moves like a guy who knows he's had an extraordinary stroke of good luck and nothing more."

Said Adam Shankman, who directed Efron in a supporting role in 2007's "Hairspray" and produced "17," "I think every once in a while, a game-changer comes along, and I think Zac is a game-changer."

Jennifer Gibgot, who also produced "17," said Efron's potential could be seen during the making of "Hairspray."

"The dailies were the impetus for this movie," she said. "We saw them and started calling New Line saying, 'We need to develop a movie for this kid, he's a star.'"

As if taking his cues from Cruise and Will Smith, known for their nonstop efforts to promote their movies by meeting with fans and media around the world, Efron didn't stop working when principal photography wrapped; he took an active role in the movie's promotion.

He worked the talk show circuit, made a detour through London and hosted "Saturday Night Live." He maintained his composure on "The Today Show," when Kathy Lee Gifford made a surprise appearance to pretend to berate him for impersonating her son Cody on "SNL."

Lindsay Lohan's Las Vegas strip

Lindsay Lohan is set to star in a Las Vegas strip show.

The 'Mean Girls' actress attended the grand opening of burlesque production 'Peepshow' - starring Mel B - and met the topless show's director Jerry Mitchell on Saturday (18.04.09).

It is believed Lindsay is keen to take over from Mel's co-star Kelly Monaco in a bid to resurrect her fading acting career.

A source told Fox News: "Lindsay is in official negotiations to take over from Monaco who wants to move on and get back to work on 'General Hospital'. Mel B reportedly intends to stay on once her three-month contract is finished.

"People forget that Lindsay is a triple threat - she can act and sing and dance. She feels that this would really revitalise her career."

Lindsay was overheard telling Mel - who appears in a series of ultra-revealing outfits - she loves the adult show, and reportedly confided to friends: "If they make me an offer, and the money's right, I'll do it."

If the 22-year-old actress does join the cast, it is believed she will play Bo Peep - a timid girl who is transformed into a confident, sexy woman by Peep Diva, played by Mel.

However, she is not the only star being considered for 'Peepshow'.

The source added: "The producers are very interested in Lindsay and would be more than happy to take the risk of having the troubled star come on board. But it's a toss between Lohan, Hugh Hefner's ex-girlfriend Holly Madison and Brooke Burke for the racy role."

Strip club host Pamela Anderson

British designer Vivienne Westwood (L) and her husband Andreas Kronthaler (R) pose backstage with actress Pamela Anderson before the start of her Fall/Winter 2009/10 women's ready-to-wear fashion collection during Paris Fashion Week March 6, 2009.

Pamela Anderson is to host the opening of a strip club.

The blonde bombshell will appear alongside 'The Hills' reality TV star Audrina Partridge at the launch of Sapphire New York on April 27.

Gossip website Fox News reports: "While there are no guarantees that Pamela Anderson and Audrina Partridge will be flashing any flesh, the two Hollywood hotties have been booked to launch the new Gentleman's Club."

The new club will be part of eatery Prime 333 Steakhouse, which is situated on the Upper East Side. Lindsay Lohan's ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson will DJ at the event, while 'Sopranos' stars Vincent Curatola and Steve Schirripa are also set to attend.

Although Pamela is only booked to host the evening, she has previously proved she is a natural performer of raunchy routines.

Last year, she impressed the audience at Paris' iconic Le Crazy Horse saloon - a burlesque club - by performing a steamy striptease involving a sheer black body stocking and a motorcycle.

She said at the time: "It's a celebration of women. It's done very respectfully, very classy, and it's a wonderful show for women as well as for men. "This isn't for money. It's just for the love of the art, and the Crazy Horse does it best."

Britney Spears 'betrayed' by ex

Britney Spears feels "betrayed" by Kevin Federline.

The singer is reportedly furious with her ex-husband - with who she has two children, Sean Preston, three, and Jayden James, two - after he proposed to current girlfriend Victoria Prince because she still has feelings for him.

A source close to Britney - who is rumoured to be dating her backing dancer Chase Benz - said: "Britney's face fell when Kevin told her he had proposed. She's been flirting with her dancers and has a thing going on with Chase but she still loves Kevin and always hoped they'd get back together.

"It wouldn't surprise me if her flirting with other guys was purely to make him jealous."

Britney - who divorced Kevin in 2007 - is said to be particularly concerned with the amount of time Victoria will be spending with her sons.

The source added: "Britney's not keen on Victoria. Victoria gets on really well with Sean and Jayden and sees more of them than Britney because they live with Kevin.

"I don't think Britney saw her as a threat until Kevin proposed but now she will be stepmother to Britney's kids and that doesn't make her happy."

Beyonce talks tour, movie, Etta James and Twitter

Singer Beyonce Knowles performs during the 81st Academy Awards in Hollywood, California in this February 22, 2009 file photo.

Beyonce says one of the toughest parts of summer tour has been condensing more than a decade's hits into a two-hour show. Judging from a recent photo shoot, figuring out how to perform them in Thierry Mugler's elaborate, over-the-top costumes is just as difficult.

Beyonce strutted gingerly in one such outfit, with a motorcycle handle-type top and flashing light at the center. But the camera brought out Sasha Fierce, her alter ego moving confidently in the outrageous getup and stiletto heels.

"I'm never gonna go on stage or do a video and not work until my feet are blistered, and until I'm basically, I can't walk any more," the giggly but exhausted entertainer said later. "I always give, and I do that because I know how lucky I am, to do my job."

In a recent interview, Beyonce — whose latest CD, "I Am ... Sasha Fierce," is double platinum — talked about concerts (her tour kicks off June 21 at Madison Square Garden) in the YouTube age, what she will fight fiercely for and why Etta James never had her worried.

AP: How will this tour be different from your 2007 "B'Day" tour?

Beyonce: It's going to be more emotional, because this album, "I Am," that portion was a lot more real and raw and more sensitive. ... The best part about this tour is I'm working with Thierry Mugler, who is an icon and a legend, and I've been a fan.

AP: Often snippets of concerts end up on the Internet. Is it frustrating not being able to surprise people anymore?

Beyonce: It's very frustrating now. ... It's great because people can get a little sneak peak and say, "Oh, I wanna come to the show" or "I don't wanna go to that show" (laughs), and I'm fans of people so I go on there and check it out too. But you put so much of your heart and time into the wardrobe ... it's kind of unfortunate that people can see the show months before you get into their city, but that's life.

AP: One YouTube video from your last tour showed you falling, getting up and continuing.

Beyonce: A lot of people with heart can see that I have heart, and I encourage other people to have that same strength and fight, and I definitely get tired, I definitely mess up, I definitely fall down stairs. I forget the words, sometimes, but that's just life. I guess the question is, what are you going to do after that? And I always get back up, and it just makes me even stronger.

AP: In your new movie "Obsessed," out on Friday, you play a wife who fights to protect her family. What is the hardest thing you ever fought for?

Beyonce: Everything that's worth anything you have to fight for. You have to fight in your relationships, I have to fight for my career, I have to fight to stay in shape, because I get tempted to eat good old chocolate (laughs), and all this stuff everybody loves. It's all a fight, but it's worth it.

AP: When you sang "At Last" for the Obamas at the inauguration ball, Etta James said some pretty harsh things about you but later said she was joking. Did you know she was joking?

Beyonce: I played Etta James (in last year's "Cadillac Records"), so I did my research, I read her book. I was not at all surprised. That's Etta. She's hilarious (laughs).

AP: Your sister Solange twitters all the time. Do you do it?

Beyonce: My sister is the Twitter queen. She told me about the twittering, but I don't get it, I feel like I'm getting really old. I'm like, what? I don't understand. Just call me.

Posh and pecs: After three children, Victoria Beckham is hitting the gym

She is famed for keeping her whippet-thin body in shape by nibbling on edamame beans washed down with spinach shakes.

But now Victoria Beckham – who once proclaimed that she ‘hates working out’ – has signed up for a programme of exercise classes in the hope they will boost her pelvic muscles.

Posh has joined Hollywood’s ultra-exclusive The Sports Club LA, a private members’ gym that costs £1,500 a year – plus a £250 monthly fee.

An insider at the gym told The Mail on Sunday that the mother of three, who turned 35 on Friday, has enrolled in private Pilates classes, which promise to strengthen and tone core stomach and back muscles – and boost pelvic strength.

The source said: ‘Victoria has signed up for private Pilates classes. She comes into the gym at least three times a week and her husband David joins her for Pilates when he’s in town.

‘Pilates is specifically aimed at building up the core muscles and is particularly good for women who want to strengthen their body.

Bikini chef Pamela Anderson

Actress Pamela Anderson presents a creation by British designer Vivienne Westwood as part of her Fall/Winter 2009/10 women's ready-to-wear fashion collection during Paris Fashion Week March 6, 2009.

Pamela Anderson wants to host a vegan cooking show in a bikini.

The former 'Baywatch' actress would only star in another TV programme if she was allowed to don skimpy swimwear and film the series on a beach.

Writing on her blog, the 41-year-old blonde beauty said: "I've been cooking Vegan every day (myself) - experimenting - trying out new things - I still think I should have my own sexy/fun Vegan-cooking show?- maybe one day.

"Could always have Girls in bikinis cooking veggies on the beach. I keep getting crazy offers to go back on TV - I don't think I have the passion anymore for it. What is TV these days anyway? Sensory overload - too busy living the dream… (unless I could do the veggie bikini BBQ show) - I just don't think I could pull it off - no studio for me (sic)."

Pamela - who is a staunch vegan and animal rights activist - is currently working on a new natural fragrance line.

She wrote: "First fragrance is Raw by Pamela. Company is called pamela-super-enviro-conscious-cruelty free-yummy-natural-very-sexy-fragrance-I-wear-every-day. It will be available this summer in department stores, drug stores, affordable choices. I want to sell where I shop - nothing too fancy (sic)."

Pamela is also developing an environmentally-friendly swimwear range.

She added: "Making board shorts from eco fabrics and bikinis - (in progress) - very easy rider bohemian lifestyle - can't beat it."
