Katie Holmes serenaded her husband Tom Cruise in a sexy stage performance on Saturday (01.05.10).

The 'Thank You For Smoking' actress - who has a daughter, four-year-old Suri, with her husband of three years - dressed in a floaty black halter-neck dress as she belted out 'Whatever Lola Wants' at The Motion Picture and Television Fund's A Fine Romance Benefit at 20th Century Fox in Century City, California.

An onlooker said: "It was quite a raunchy routine. Katie ruffled Tom's hair, hitched up her skirt and at one stage even pushed him to the floor!"

The 31-year-old actress strutted around to the musical number - which was from the musical 'Damn Yankees' - while a pianist accompanied her vocals and Tom portrayed her feuding love interest.

Sitting centre stage whilst wearing a white shirt, the 'Valkyrie' star sat on a bench while the brunette beauty ran her fingers through her spouse's hair, swished her ruffled skirt and gazed at him passionately.

The performance ended on a romantic note when the 47-year-old actor took Katie in his arms, kissed her and leant her back in a seductive embrace.

While the crowd burst into applause, the pair grinned to one another, curtseyed and left the stage hand-in-hand.

The 'Wichita' actor made the admission when he was asked about his performance during an appearance on a US talk show alongside his co-star Cameron Diaz.

Host Jay Leno asked: "I know you're a pilot, what are you better at - flying or sex?"

Clearly embarrassed by the question, Tom began squirming in his seat before joking: "You know what, I don't know. Having sex with me is like flying, Jay. I try to excel in all areas and I've never been asked for a refund, so I don't know."

Tom was equally as mortified when Jay quizzed him on his weekend habits.

Asked if he ever visited strip clubs, Tom went bright red and replied: "Actually I never have been, ever. Sorry to disappoint you."

Sensing his embarrassment, Cameron tried to calm the situation down, adding: "It's kind of hard to be Tom Cruise and go to a strip club, you guys seriously!"

Tom responded: "I swear, if I went I would say, 'Yeah Jay, of course I went.' "

Tom Cruise 'spends 1m' on Suri classes

Tom Cruise has spent $1 million on his two-year-old daughter Suri's education.

The 'Valkyrie' actor and his wife Katie Holmes reportedly want their child - who turns three on April 18 - to have a well-rounded upbringing and have splashed out on classes including foreign language, art and dance.

A source told the National Enquirer magazine: "It doesn't matter what Suri is doing, Tom wants her to be able to do it better than any other child. All parents think their kids are special, but Tom and Katie firmly believe Suri is gifted.

"She is learning French and Spanish and has a tutor she sees once a week.

"Suri has shown a real love of dancing, so Tom and Katie are encouraging her as much as possible. She practises ballet, tap and modern dance for hours, nearly every day. She also has private gymnastics lessons and is learning soccer."

Suri recently attended Los Angeles' Children's Art Studio with two of David and Victoria Beckham's sons - Romeo, six, and Cruz, four - because Katie is convinced socialising with older kids will benefit her daughter's development.

The source said: "Katie likes to have the Beckham boys around, since they are older. She thinks Suri will emulate what they do and learn even faster."

Tom is also planning to enrol Suri in classes to improve her musical talents.

The source added: "Piano and violin lessons are on the to-do list. Tom and Katie just have to find time in Suri's busy schedule!"

Valkyrie screens in China but Cruise unworried by controversy

Wartime thriller 'Valkyrie' starring Tom Cruise hit screens across China on Thursday, after raking in more than one hundred million dollars in North America since its New York premiere on December 13, 2008.

The World War II film, directed by 'X-Men' director Bryan Singer, is based on the true story of the 1944 plot, lead by Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, to assassinate Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and topple the Third Reich regime.

The film's China premiere was held on Wednesday in Beijing without the attendance of Tom Cruise, who was also absent from the Oscars earlier this week, due to his busy schedule.

It's been three years since the last Tom Cruise blockbuster, 'Mission Impossible 3', premiered in China in 2006.

In an e-mail interview with Beijing News, a local newspaper, the Hollywood mogul said he's always been fascinated with the World War II period, and he couldn't get enough of it when first reading the screenplay of 'Valkyrie'.

The scenes of Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg joining the German Resistance group, a secret anti-Nazi organization, were filmed in a house Stauffenberg once dropped by, and the owner of the house, whose father was executed by the Nazis after the Hitler assassination failed, showed the 'Valkyrie' crew pictures of her time, Cruise revealed.

The Hollywood actor said he wasn't troubled by the prospect of playing a controversial character. He was aware the moment he took on the Stauffenberg role, that the controversy of 'good Germans during World War II' would follow with the film.

The filming of 'Valkyrie' was not without controversy. It was reported the German government would not allow film shooting in certain locations because of Cruise's American background and his reputation as a staunch scientologist.

Tom Cruise was "weird" and "awkward" when he bumped into his ex-girlfriend Penelope Cruz.

The 'Valkyrie' star was "visibly flustered" when Penelope - who he dated for three years before they split in 2004 - approached him at a pre-Oscars party in Beverly Hills on Friday night.

A source said: "Penelope tapped him on the shoulder and timidly asked, 'Tom?'

"Tom turned around, got visibly flustered and awkwardly said, 'Oh, hey. Hi', and gave her a small, distant hug before turning back around to his friends. It was weird."

The 46-year-old actor is now married to actress Katie Holmes, who was absent from the party, hosted by the head of Creative Artists Agency Bryan Lourd.

The source told the New York Post newspaper: "Katie was not there. But he clearly hasn't run into Penelope very often since they split."

Madonna, Sir Elton John, Oprah Winfrey, Tom Ford, Mike Myers, Shirley MacLaine, Meg Ryan, Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio were also at the party.

Tom Cruise to get "Lost for Words" with Zhang Ziyi

The stalled production of the Hollywood romantic comedy "Lost for Words" might get a jumpstart with the possible addition of Tom Cruise to the cast.

Universal Pictures, which is producing the film, reportedly invited the Hollywood star to step in as the lead to fill the vacancy left by British actor Hugh Grant, according to leading U.S. showbiz magazine "Variety."

Grant quit the project last October after a disagreement about the screenplay with Richard Curtis, his longtime partner in previous films and the producer of "Lost for Words." After Grant's departure, Zhang Ziyi, the lead actress in the film, returned to China to shoot another film.

According to media reports, Universal is currently contacting Tom Cruise on the contract.

"Lost for Words" is about a love triangle in which a Hollywood actor falls for his Chinese director after romancing her translator during their making of a film. Susanne Bier, the Danish filmmaker and former Oscar nominee, will direct the movie.

Tom Cruise says grew up wanting to kill Hitler

Tom Cruise, who fails to assassinate Adolf Hitler in his new movie "Valkyrie," said he grew up really wanting to kill the Nazi leader.

In the World War Two thriller based on a true story of the unsuccessful attempt by German soldiers to kill Hitler, Cruise plays Colonel Claus Von Stauffenberg who plants a briefcase bomb under a table at Hitler's military headquarters.

A heavy wooden table saves Hitler and Stauffenberg is executed with his co-conspirators.

"I always wanted to kill Hitler, I hated him," the Hollywood star of such major blockbusters as "Top Gun" and "Mission Impossible," told the press during a visit to Seoul to promote his latest film.

"As a child studying history and looking at documents, I wondered, why didn't someone stand up and try to stop it? When I read the script, it was entertaining and informative to know what the challenges were and what it was like to be in the environment."

Stauffenberg's legacy helped ease the burden of guilt about World War Two and the Holocaust Germans still endure. But Germans had balked at the prospect of Cruise playing Stauffenberg as they objected to the actor's ties to Scientology, the movement founded in the 1950s by science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard.

Germany, which does not recognize Scientology as a religion and regards it as a cult, made it difficult for the crew to film in the Bendlerblock building and courtyard where Stauffenberg was shot dead.

"I've never heard of this story before... It turned out to be an incredible adventure, just to be there and shoot at these locations that Stauffenberg was. It was a very powerful experience and hopefully it will communicate with the audience," the actor said.

"It has certainly influenced my life, just knowing that there were people who tried to stop him (Hitler)."

Valkyrie, directed by Bryan Singer, opened in the United States on December 25 and fared better than skeptics had predicted, reaching No. 4 in the North American box office ratings for the three-day weekend starting December 26. It opens on January 22 in Seoul for the first time in Asia.

Tom Cruise says Scientology helped him beat Dyslexia

US actor Tom Cruise, one of Scientology's best-known adherents, overcame the effects of his dyslexia thanks to the church's teachings, he said in an interview published on Sunday.

The Hollywood star told XL Semanal, the weekly magazine supplement of daily Spanish newspaper ABC, that at the age of seven he was diagnosed as having the language-based learning disability that can include problems in reading, spelling, writing and pronouncing words.

"I asked myself if I was normal or an idiot. I would try to concentrate but I felt anxiety, frustration, boredom. When I graduated from high school in 1980 I was functionally illiterate," he said.

"Nobody gave me a solution and I wanted to know why the system had failed. Finally, as an adult I learned to read perfectly through the method of [Scientology's late founder] L. Ron Hubbard," the 46-year-old added.

The Church of Scientology, founded in 1954 in the United States by Hubbard, a science-fiction writer, teaches that technology can expand the mind and help solve problems.

Katie Holmes chooses Broadway over Tom Cruise

Katie Holmes had the difficulty of making the choice to either stay in New York and finish her last performance of her Broadway show, "All My Sons" or attend the Golden Globes with husband Tom Cruise in Los Angeles.

Tom is nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in "Tropic Thunder" and the Golden Globes are handed out on January 11, 2009.

Katie's press rep, Ina Treciokas, says definitively that Katie has decided to stay in New York to do her last show. She states that the cast of "All My Sons" has been like a family and they want to end the show together.

Holmes has been totally devoted to the show. She hasn't missed a single performance and has remained devoted to the play even though she has the smallest of the four lead parts.

So who will Tom bring to the globes? Speculation is that his mother, Mary or daughter, Isabella, will be his date for the evening.

It was more than just love at first sight for Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

“I knew I wanted to marry Kate when I met her,” Tom told the December 7 issue of T: The New York Times Style Magazine.

The magazine’s “Holiday/Reinvention Issue” has two separate interviews and “Double” split covers for its upcoming issue – one with Katie and one with Tom. Both interviews are by writer Lynn Hirschberg.

Tom bought the ring shortly after their first date. And the feeling was mutual — according to Tom, Katie later told him that she had had a crush on him for years, even dreaming of marrying him as a little girl.

“I was completely in love,” Katie told the mag of meeting Tom, admitting that her feelings starting young. “I admired him growing up – he’s Tom Cruise! I… maybe had his photo up on my wall.”

The couple have been the center of a tabloid tornado since beginning their whirlwind romance in April 2005, with Tom grabbing a number of headlines for his unexpected exploits – from jumping on Oprah’s couch to his successful surprise appearance at Matt Lauer’s recent Friar’s Club roast. In 2005, Tom called the newsman “glib” as he argued heatedly about anti-depressants.

“My feeling is, go big or go home,” Tom said in the T interview, laughing off past controversies.
But there’s one thing he wants to keep to keep to himself, speaking regretfully of placing his new family in the “adventure” of superstardom. It’s Katie who wouldn’t want go back to the way things were.

“No,” she said. “My life has expanded.”

In the interview, Tom also talks about his latest film, “Valkyrie,” his film choices over the course of his career, coming out to LA for the first time to meet up with Sean Penn, and his recent roast of Lauer.
