We Found Love' tops chart in milestone for Rihanna

Rihanna's single "We Found Love" on Thursday held the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for the eighth straight week, making it the singer's longest-running No. 1 single of her career.

The Barbadian chanteuse's single overtook Adele's "Rolling in the Deep," which stayed at No. 1 for seven weeks earlier this year, and beat her previous top-selling singles, 2007's "Umbrella" and 2010's "Love The Way You Lie" featuring Eminem.

"We Found Love" is the lead single from Rihanna's sixth studio album "Talk That Talk," and the singer will wrap her last concert on her "Loud" tour in London on Thursday.

LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It," notched a seventh week at No. 2 on the singles chart, while Bruno Mars' "It Will Rain" held steady at No. 3, Flo Rida's "Good Feeling" climbed to No. 4 and Katy Perry's "One That Got Away" rounded out the top five.

Rihanna takes up belly dancing

Rihanna has taken up belly dancing.

The 'California King Bed' hitmaker is being given lessons in the exotic art by a professional dancer from Mexico in a bid to keep in shape - and friends would not be surprised to see some of her new moves turn up on the European leg of the singer's 'Loud' tour in September.

A pal of the Bajan beauty told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "She loves belly dancing and has been getting all her dancers to join in. They've even had a few private Arabian-themed parties.

"We shouldn't be surprised to see a little of this influence when Rihanna goes on tour later this year."

Belly dancing appears to be a more conventional way for the 23-year-old singer to keep fit, but Rihanna - who is currently on her 'Loud' tour in the US - has previously revealed she stays in shape by "walking for miles" through airports when she is going from place to place playing gigs.

She said: "I keep fit by walking through so many airports. You end up walking for miles in those places!"

Rihanna also has another reason for getting fit because she is looking for a man, recently explaining she wants a guy who will "earn" her love.

She added: "I'm open to love. But guys should have to earn it. Because the minute they get it, they want something else.

"Men are like hunters; they like the chase. So you have to keep 'em guessing. Actually, I'm like that too. I get bored quickly. So if someone can make me laugh, that's the best."

Rihanna uses the web to keep in touch with her boyfriend.

The 'Rude Boy' hitmaker and her baseball player lover Matt Kemp chat online when she is away on tour to keep the spark alive in their romance.

Rihanna - who is currently in Paris, France, on the European leg of her 'Last Girl on Earth' tour - told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I'm really happy right now. It's an amazing city. I love it. It would have been so cool if he was here. I was hoping he would be able to come to London but he's working. And I'm touring and shooting videos for my next single so it's going to be seven weeks before I see him again.

"We have to make do with Skype and phone, but I miss him. And this is the most romantic town. I can't wait to see him again.

"It'll probably be when I get back to America that we can hook up properly."

The 22-year-old singer also revealed she now has a doctor on the road with her monitoring her injured ribs.

Rihanna - who suffered the injury while performing in Zurich, Switzerland - said: "One thing knocked something else out and it went on from there. I went to hospital just to check it and it's OK. I have a doctor on tour now to watch out for me."

The 'Umbrella' singer seems to be falling for hunky Matt and recently admitted she is having a lot of "fun" with the sportsman.

She said: "It's new, and it's fun, and it's nothing too serious, you know. I don't want anything that's going to take up so much of my energy and time right now in a bad way. I just want to have fun, and that's what it's about."

Rihanna's ribs are ready

Rihanna has promised her UK fans she will be fine to play despite her rib injury.

The 'Russian Roulette' singer damaged her side during a recent show in Zurich, Switzerland, but she is feeling good and her ribs are on the mend.

She told the London Evening Standard newspaper: "I've had a few injuries, and one thing made another worse.

"Eventually, I had to have it checked out. My ribs are still hurting, but I will be raring to go by London."

Rihanna, 21, was originally treated for the ailment at the Hirslanden private clinic.

The 21-year-old pop star is currently in Paris, France, on her 'Last Girl on Earth' tour and is then heading to Germany for a second bout of concerts in the country.

She then travels to Luxemburg before flying over to the UK and Ireland for a number of dates.

Rihanna's tour is her most ambitious yet and features a number of costume changes and rigorous dance routines.

She said: "We've never done a tour to this capacity. The production is unbelievable and so are the costumes, we just took it to a whole new level. We just keep growing."

Rihanna rushed to hospital

Rihanna was rushed to hospital after performing in Switzerland on Monday night (19.04.10).

The 'Umbrella' singer played a sold-out concert in Zurich but after leaving the Hallenstadion venue just after midnight she was taken to the Hirslanden private clinic via a blacked-out Mercedes.

The 22-year-old pop star was then quickly escorted into the accident and emergency department by her driver, bodyguard and assistant to be treated for a mystery ailment.

Alenka Ambroz, head of the clinic's corporate communications, told Blick: "Rihanna arrived at the accident and emergency unit. We're not going to give any details."

She left the hospital at around 2.55am, over two and a half hours after being admitted, and was taken back to the venue.

It seems Rihanna's mysterious medical problem hasn't had any long-lasting effects though as she was able to take to the stage in Lyon, France, last night (21.04.10).

The 'Umbrella' singer was partying in the Hamptons - an exclusive New York seaside resort - with friends last weekend when she spotted the handsome stranger working as a doorman at the AXE Lounge.

When Rihanna left the club, she was seen laughing and joking with the mystery hunk before asking for his phone number.

E! online reports: "By the end of the evening Rihanna was smitten with the doorman. But he wasn't just any doorman. The dude is also a model. He is really hot. Rihanna asked for his number on the way out."

Although the Barbados-born beauty has been flirting with other men, it is believed she has rekindled her romance with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

Rihanna, who split from Chris after he attacked her in February, has reportedly upset her mother Monica Fenty by admitting she is still in love with the 'Run It' star.

Monica is quoted by Britain's Star magazine as saying: "I'm devastated, but what can I do? We love her but can't stand to see her play Russian roulette with her life.

"Chris has a bizarre power over her. She still loves him and he knows it. In her eyes he is a god. Even after this time, and even after what he did, it's not diminished.

"It looks like he still can - and is - calling the shots. Chris can charm the birds out of the trees."

Rihanna, 21, reportedly told Monica that Chris is "ingrained in my heart and in my mind".

Last month, it was claimed Rihanna and Chris - who is banned from coming within 50 yards of the singer after pleading guilty to assault - had been staying at the same New York hotel.

Meanwhile, 20-year-old Chris is reportedly set to appear on US TV talk show 'Larry King Live' later this week to discuss the attack.

Rihanna secretly seeing Chris?

Rihanna and her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown have sparked rumours they have rekindled their romance.

The pair - who are barred from contacting each other after Chris pleaded guilty to felony assault last month following his altercation with Rihanna last February - both reportedly stayed at Manhattan's Trump International Hotel and Tower over the weekend. The New York Post newspaper reports: "The two spent the weekend at the same luxury Midtown hotel under a cloak of secrecy.

"They spent the next two days coming and going in separate chauffeured vehicles from the underground garage of the 52-story Columbus Circle building. The two appear to have taken great measures to avoid public exposure, including the use of decoy vehicles to throw off reporters and photographers."

Rihanna and Chris were not seen together during their stay at the luxury establishment, and checked into separate bedrooms.

Chris was spotted leaving the hotel to go to the cinema with pals on Friday (24.07.09), and also spent time with friends in Harlem.

Rihanna, 21, enjoyed a meal with seven companions, and was believed to be looking for a new apartment in New York.

Chris, 20, is understood to have checked out of the hotel on Saturday (25.07.09), with one of his entourage claiming his decision was because "Rihanna had checked in".

The 'Run It' singer reached a plea bargain for attacking the Barbados-born beauty before his case went to trial.

Under the terms of the agreement, Chris is the subject of a restraining order which sees him banned from coming within 50 yards of the 'Umbrella' singer.

If he is found to have violated the terms, he might lose the plea bargain - which saw him receive five years probation and 180 days of community labour rather than any jail time - and be charged with a misdemeanour.

Chris' lawyer Mark Geragos did not know where his client was when questioned, and would only say: "I don't want to be quoted on something hypothetical."

Last week, Chris posted a clip on video sharing website YouTube in which he apologised for the "inexcusable" assault.

Chris Brown gets probation for assault on Rihanna

R&B singer Chris Brown pleaded guilty on Monday to assaulting his former girlfriend, pop star Rihanna, in an agreement with prosecutors that calls for him to spend five years of probation and attend courses on domestic violence.

Brown, singer of the hits "Run It" and "Kiss Kiss," will be formally sentenced August 5. He had faced four years in prison if convicted in a trial on charges of assault and a making a criminal threat. There was no plea deal on a second charge.

In addition to the probation and the domestic violence course in his home state of Virginia, Brown also must perform 180 days of community service.

He was ordered to keep his distance from Rihanna, 21, who was in the courthouse on Monday and prepared to testify against him.

Brown, 20, showed no emotion as his high-profile defense lawyer Mark Geragos told Los Angeles Judge Patricia Schnegg of the plea agreement with prosecutors.

Dressed in a gray suit, the singer was accompanied into the courtroom by his mother and an entourage of supporters.

"I think it's commendable that you took responsibility for your conduct, sir," Schnegg told Brown.

He was accused of beating Rihanna, whose hit songs include "Umbrella," in a rented Lamborghini after the two attended a swanky music industry party in February on the eve of the industry's Grammy Awards.

A police photo of Rihanna's bruised and battered face taken after the incident was leaked to the media but details of what happened that evening have been scant. Brown's plea means that evidence against him will not be heard in an open court.

"Rihanna believes this is a fair and just resolution to this case," her attorney Donald Etra told reporters outside the courthouse following the hearing. He said Barbados-born Rihanna learned of the plea about an hour before the hearing was set to begin Monday afternoon.

L.A. District Attorney spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons said the plea was similar to other cases for first-time offenders like Brown and prosecutors had discussed it with Rihanna.

Rihanna wants Magic date

The source added to the New York Daily News newspaper: "Rihanna and Andrew are just friends, and they have been for a while. It's Rashard who she wants. She thinks he's hotter than hot."

In a bid to avoid Chris - who has been accused of assaulting the singer in February - Rihanna left straight after the game, and spent much of the half-time break in a hospitality lounge.

The 'Run It' star reportedly spent much of the game sneaking glances at his former girlfriend, and while she stayed away during the break, he came over to her friends to shake hands.

A source said: "Chris was definitely trying to make the situation less awkward. He was trying to be very grownup, and wanted Rihanna to see that as well."

Rihanna goes solo

Rihanna is not dating anyone.

The 'Umbrella' singer has been linked with a series of handsome famous men, including rapper Kanye West and Aubrey Graham, since splitting from Chris Brown - who is accused of assaulting her in February - but is happy to concentrate on her career for the moment.

A source said: "Rihanna needs the focus to be on her talents right now, not the bumps in her personal life. She doesn't want anything else to overshadow her career.

"Kanye is all over Rihanna's album - not all over Rihanna. She's feeling Aubrey but wants to take things slow. Right now they're just chilling."

Meanwhile, Rihanna is currently taking acting lessons ahead of her first film role while working on new music in New York.

The source added: "Rihanna will start filming 'Personal Protection' later this year. She's not ready, acting wise, yet, so she's meeting with a coach."

Additional casting for the film will reportedly be announced after Rihanna, 21, has grasped the basics of acting.

Chris - who friends say is "being a player" and not dating anyone exclusively - is also preparing for a new untitled movie role.

A pal of the 'Run It' star told the New York Daily News newspaper: "Chris plays a homeless character. It's a real rags-to-riches story and should be good for his image."

Rihanna bowled over by rapper

Rihanna has been seen "making out" with a rapper.

The 'Rehab' singer was seen drinking whiskey and locking lips with former child actor-turned-rapper Aubrey 'Drake' Graham at New York's Lucky Strike Lanes and Lounge on Monday (18.05.09).

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "She was drinking whiskey and apple juice and making out with him all night. They were really cute together."

Rihanna is believed to have left the trendy bowling alley with Drake around midnight.

The night before (17.05.09), the 21-year-old beauty was spotted kissing a guy at a lap dancing bar.

Rihanna - whose ex-boyfriend Chris Brown allegedly assaulted her in February - took over the VIP room of New York's Flashdancers club and was seen getting friendly with one of the hunks in her party.

A source said: "Rihanna didn't get any lap dances herself, but she was tipping the girls a lot. And she was definitely with one of the guys in her group and kissing him all night."

The group allegedly spent around $2,500 in the club before leaving at 3.30am.

Rihanna pens Chris split song

Rihanna has written a song about her split from Chris Brown.

The 21-year-old beauty - whose on/off boyfriend Chris allegedly assaulted her on February 8 - is believed to have penned the track 'Silly Boy' to warn him their relationship is over for good.

She sings: "I said I'm not coming back / You fooled me once but you can't have that ego turning.

"Just too bad for you, that when you had me / Didn't know what to do, she's over you.

"Cause you had a good girl, good girl / Girl that's a keeper / You had a good girl, good girl but didn't know how to treat her.

"So silly boy get out my face / Why do you like the way regrets taste?"

A demo of the song - which featured vocals from Lady Gaga - has been posted on the internet by her rapper friend Kanye West.

This is not the first time Rihanna has written a song about separation and revenge.

The Barbados-born beauty was working on a track about killing a cheating partner at the time of Chris' alleged attack on her.

Rihanna had teamed up with rapper Akon for the track 'Emergency Room', in which she dreams about seeking revenge on an unfaithful boyfriend by hospitalising him and removing his drip.

She sang: "I'm going to leave your heart broken on the floor / You're gonna be in the emergency room / I'm standing by your bed / And so tempted to pull out your IV."

Last month Chris, 20, pleased not guilty to felony assault and making criminal threats in relation to his alleged attack on Rihanna.

He is accused of punching, biting and choking Rihanna until she was unconscious during an altercation in his rented silver Lamborghini.
