Katie Holmes chooses Suri school
Katie Holmes has enrolled her daughter in a Catholic school. The 'Thank You For Smoking' actress reportedly infuriated Scientologist husband Tom Cruise with her insistence that three-year-old Suri attend the Catholic Charities Yawkey Centre For Early Education And Learning in Boston, Massachusetts.
A source close to the couple - who are living in Boston while Tom shoots his latest movie 'Wichita' - told the Mail Online website: "Katie has been listening to her parents who are devout Catholics.
"She is not convinced by Scientology and has told Tom that she wants Suri to be educated as a Catholic - as she was.
"They had been having huge problems agreeing on her school. To say they were having arguments it putting it mildly - but Tom came around to the idea in the end."
Katie has reportedly not been seen at the Church of Scientology for more than five months.
Tom was raised Catholic but converted to the bizarre sci-fi cult in 1990.

Tom Cruise 'spends 1m' on Suri classes
Actor Tom Cruise (R) waves to fans upon his arrival with his wife Katie Holmes (C) and their daughter Suri at Narita International Airport March 8, 2009. Tom and his family flew into Japan on Sunday to promote his movie "Valkyrie".Tom Cruise has spent $1 million on his two-year-old daughter Suri's education.
The 'Valkyrie' actor and his wife Katie Holmes reportedly want their child - who turns three on April 18 - to have a well-rounded upbringing and have splashed out on classes including foreign language, art and dance.
A source told the National Enquirer magazine: "It doesn't matter what Suri is doing, Tom wants her to be able to do it better than any other child. All parents think their kids are special, but Tom and Katie firmly believe Suri is gifted.
"She is learning French and Spanish and has a tutor she sees once a week.
"Suri has shown a real love of dancing, so Tom and Katie are encouraging her as much as possible. She practises ballet, tap and modern dance for hours, nearly every day. She also has private gymnastics lessons and is learning soccer."
Suri recently attended Los Angeles' Children's Art Studio with two of David and Victoria Beckham's sons - Romeo, six, and Cruz, four - because Katie is convinced socialising with older kids will benefit her daughter's development.
The source said: "Katie likes to have the Beckham boys around, since they are older. She thinks Suri will emulate what they do and learn even faster."
Tom is also planning to enrol Suri in classes to improve her musical talents.
The source added: "Piano and violin lessons are on the to-do list. Tom and Katie just have to find time in Suri's busy schedule!"

Katie Holmes' rude dinner party
The 30-year-old actress - who has two-year-old daughter Suri with her husband Tom Cruise - insists people would retract their horrible remarks if they spent time in her home.
She said: "Sometimes I think I would say, 'Why don't you come over and have dinner? See what there is to see.' " Katie admits she finds it hard when people spread rumours about Suri - shortly after she was born rumours circulated Katie's pregnancy was an elaborate hoax and that Suri didn't exist - and is determined to protect her daughter at all costs.
He said, 'I don't want you to get upset.' And I said, 'Well, I am upset.' "So we approached it together. But I definitely felt like - as a woman, as the mother of Suri - I want to handle this! My mom is very strong, and if anyone ever said anything about any of us, she would be, 'Excuse me? That's my family!' "
Katie - who has previously admitted she had a crush on Tom, 46, after she saw his 1986 movie 'Top Gun' - claims she always knew she would marry the star. She said: "When 'Top Gun' came out, my sisters were like, 'Oh, my God, 'Top Gun'! Tom Cruise!' And I very confidently said, 'I'm going to marry him one day.' It wasn't like, 'How do I get to Tom Cruise?' It was just, 'I think I'm going to marry him. Why not? He'll like me. I'm fun.' "

Katie Holmes chooses Broadway over Tom Cruise
Katie Holmes had the difficulty of making the choice to either stay in New York and finish her last performance of her Broadway show, "All My Sons" or attend the Golden Globes with husband Tom Cruise in Los Angeles.Tom is nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in "Tropic Thunder" and the Golden Globes are handed out on January 11, 2009.
Katie's press rep, Ina Treciokas, says definitively that Katie has decided to stay in New York to do her last show. She states that the cast of "All My Sons" has been like a family and they want to end the show together.
Holmes has been totally devoted to the show. She hasn't missed a single performance and has remained devoted to the play even though she has the smallest of the four lead parts.
So who will Tom bring to the globes? Speculation is that his mother, Mary or daughter, Isabella, will be his date for the evening.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes talk love & marriage
“I knew I wanted to marry Kate when I met her,” Tom told the December 7 issue of T: The New York Times Style Magazine.
The magazine’s “Holiday/Reinvention Issue” has two separate interviews and “Double” split covers for its upcoming issue – one with Katie and one with Tom. Both interviews are by writer Lynn Hirschberg.
Tom bought the ring shortly after their first date. And the feeling was mutual — according to Tom, Katie later told him that she had had a crush on him for years, even dreaming of marrying him as a little girl.
“I was completely in love,” Katie told the mag of meeting Tom, admitting that her feelings starting young. “I admired him growing up – he’s Tom Cruise! I… maybe had his photo up on my wall.”
The couple have been the center of a tabloid tornado since beginning their whirlwind romance in April 2005, with Tom grabbing a number of headlines for his unexpected exploits – from jumping on Oprah’s couch to his successful surprise appearance at Matt Lauer’s recent Friar’s Club roast. In 2005, Tom called the newsman “glib” as he argued heatedly about anti-depressants.
“My feeling is, go big or go home,” Tom said in the T interview, laughing off past controversies.
But there’s one thing he wants to keep to keep to himself, speaking regretfully of placing his new family in the “adventure” of superstardom. It’s Katie who wouldn’t want go back to the way things were.
“No,” she said. “My life has expanded.”
In the interview, Tom also talks about his latest film, “Valkyrie,” his film choices over the course of his career, coming out to LA for the first time to meet up with Sean Penn, and his recent roast of Lauer.
Katie, photographed for the mag in an “Old Hollywood” motif, discusses her turn on Broadway currently in “All My Sons,” growing up in Toledo, Ohio, her first early auditions, and spending time with daughter Suri.

Katie Holmes faces anti-Scientology protest on B'way
Tom Cruise poses with his wife actress Katie Holmes at the premiere of "Tropic Thunder" at the Mann's Village theatre in Westwood, California August 11, 2008. Nearly 100 people lined up outside the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre Thursday night an hour before Holmes acted on Broadway for the first time in a preview performance for "All My Sons."
Not in the line: roughly 30 Scientology protesters who stood behind a barricade and loudly chanted "Scientology kills!" Some wore masks like in the movie "V for Vendetta," and one poster read: "FREE KATIE."
Moments before the curtain went up, Holmes' husband — and Hollywood's most famous Scientologist — Tom Cruise entered the theater, where he mingled and shook hands with some other theatergoers who took photos and clapped. He then hugged Dustin Hoffman, who was sitting a couple rows away, which drew another cheer inside the theater.
Amid the hubbub, it took awhile for people to take their seats.
Melissa Doyle tried to ignore the ruckus. She said she took her spot in line early, and saw Holmes rush into the theater wearing skinny jeans, a black blazer and oversized sunglasses.
"I love Katie Holmes," the 27-year-old New Yorker said. "I think she's a great actress and right now, I really love her for her fashion, her style! I think she really kind of differentiates herself among young Hollywood. Plus, she's a mom — and I just think she's a really good role model."
Meanwhile, 27-year-old Alistair Savides, visiting from St. Louis, said he wasn't there to see Holmes. He said he's a fan of Arthur Miller's drama, which first played on Broadway in 1947.
"I don't really care about who's performing as long as they're good at what they do and it's a good play," Savides said.
As protesters' chants grew louder, Savides called it "surreal to be right in the middle of this thing. But, you know, there's always two sides to every story and they just really strongly believe in one side of the story. ... If it adds to public debate, maybe that's a good thing."
Cruise's membership in the Church of Scientology has made him a controversial target of criticism. And last year, Jada Pinkett Smith felt compelled to deny her good friend Holmes is a prisoner in her marriage to Cruise, who's been depicted by the tabloids as a controlling husband.
"All My Sons" concerns businessman Joe Keller (John Lithgow) whose factory supplied defective cylinder parts to the military, resulting in the deaths of 21 pilots during World War II. Yet it was his business partner who went to jail for the mistake.
Dianne Wiest plays Keller's wife; Patrick Wilson his idealistic son; and Holmes the son's fiancee and daughter of Keller's disgraced partner.
The play officially opens Oct. 16.

Co-stars amazed by Tom Cruise in new comedy
Actor Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes arrive for the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala, "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy" in New York May 5, 2008.Co-star Jack Black added: "The fact that he came in and in six days of shooting made that kind of impact? I'd say per hour, he was the big winner in 'Tropic Thunder'."
However, producer, writer and star of the movie Ben Stiller revealed fans will also be shocked by Cruise's "colorful language" on screen.
The "Meet the Parents" actor added: "We knew we were locked into an R-rating from the language in the beginning of the movie anyway, from all the war movie dialogue. "You just have to do that if you're doing a war movie. I think a lot of these studio guys talk like that. I know from personal experience. I have heard people in movie studios curse."
