The 24-year-old blonde bombshell is tipped to portray a sexier version of the terrifying female monster in an updated version of the original 1935 horror movie.
A source said: "The Bride of Frankenstein will be young this time. They're looking for a person with great power and sex appeal. Someone along the lines of Scarlett Johansson or Anne Hathaway."
The wild-haired bride was originally played by English actress Elsa Lanchester.
The film follows on from 'Frankenstein' - which sees Dr. Frankenstein bring a 'human' to life from separate body parts - and sees the doctor create a partner for the monster.
However, when Dr. Frankenstein brings the bride to life, she rejects the monster.
Neil Burger - who previously worked on 'The Illusionist' - is set to director the movie and pen the script.
Guillermo del Toro recently revealed he is planning to begin work on a new version of 'Frankenstein', based on Mary Shelley's novel.
